Rowan of Rin was an enthralling, fictional story about a shy boy named Rowan.
He and his fellow villagers set off on a mission to restore water to the village of Rin.
Sheba the wise witch gives them a warning but they ignore it.
How will they survive the seven dangerous challenges?
This book showed a great message that anyone can do anything. This was a great book and can inspire young shy kids to stand out.
I recommend it to 11+ years old.

The 156-Storey Treehouse by Andy Griffiths and Terry Denton

This book is about two people named Andy and Terry. They need a contract for their tree house, but they needed it to happen six years ago, so they had to travel back in time.
When they hopped in the bin, Inspector Bubble Wrap jumped in and knocked the time thruster and turned it back in time and went back through time through a bunch of time periods, even the future.
I recommend this for ages 9 to 15 because it is a chapter book.
I would rate this book 8/10.

Reviewed by Poppy A. BuniPS

This extraordinary book, Part of Your World by Liz Braswell, tells the other side of The Little Mermaid - I mean what would have happened if Ariel, the Little Mermaid never defeated Ursula the cruel sea witch.
Liz has done a flawless job at writing this masterpiece, every small but meaningful world describes the details of how Ariel has changed over the years and how she has now become the Queen of Atlantica.
Ariel has heard rumours that her father, King of Atlantica, might still be alive after he lost the fight with Ursula.
Now Ariel has come back to the dry land to get back her father after all these years.
This book is recommended for 10 and over.
I rate this book a 10/10 because of it’s amazing detail and great visualisation of the whole story and book.

Freeze a Crowd by Paul Jennings, Ted Greenwood and Terry Denton

Picture
Reviewed by Max W. DPS

This book has jokes and sayings, but it doesn't give you the answer. It gives you a letter and number. The top and bottom of the page has letters across it and the sides have numbers running down. You have to line up the letter and number and then you will find he answer where they meet in the picture's. It is similar to a map.
Here is an example: 'why don't you tell secrets to a clock? Because time will tell'. The picture is a clock with arms and legs, walking like a person.
I recommend this book for ages 6 to 10.
I give this book an 8/10. It is quite different to other books I have read.

Spooner or Later by Paul Jennings, Ted Greenwood and Terry Denton

Reviewed by Max W. DPS

This book has a range of short sentences and you have to swap the first letters of the words to make the meaning change.
There are pictures that match each new sentence around the edge of the pages that you have to match up. The sentences and pictures are usually quite funny!
Here is an example: 'hatch a cat' swaps to 'catch a hat'.
I would recommend this book for ages 6 - 10.
I give this book an 8/10.

The Adventures of Captain Underpants by Dav Pilkey

Picture
Reviewed by Saul K. MPPS

Captain Underpants is a funny and fun novel about how two boys, George and Harold, kind of save the world with help from Captain Underpants. However, it wasn’t always like this. George and Harold would always crack jokes and do pranks. But the mean old principal Mr. Krupp wouldn’t have it!
So, one day they got a hypnosis ring and made him Captain Underpants.
I would recommend this book to people 6 and up.
I would rate this book a 9/10.
I love the writing and the drawings are top notch.

Guts by Raina Telgmeier

Picture
Reviewed by Jess C. BPS

This book is about Raina, a young school girl, who woke up with a very bad stomach ache one morning. Her mum had one too. The first night Raina got up and was vomiting and it did not stop. She went back to bed and when she woke up she got dressed for school. School just said it could be a bug going through your body because a lot of your friends are sick too, or it could be food poisoning or you might be just stressed.
Her nerves are high because she is also trying to meet new friends.
My favourite part is when Raina started vomiting and she couldn’t sleep. I also like when she goes to school and her frown gets turned upside down because it made me feel warm inside.
I recommended this book to Year 2 and up because it is very easy to read and it is a graphic novel with lots of pictures.
I rate this book 10/10 because it is about meeting new friends.

Wings of Fire #5: The Brightest Night by Tui T. Sutherland

Sunny has always had faith in the prophecy… until now.
Morrowseer said that he made the prophecy up to be the NightWings new plan to take over the rainforest! Now the NightWings home is destroyed and they only survived by coming to the rainforest to live under the rein of Glory, Queen of the RainWings.
Sunny gets kidnapped! She flies all the way to the desert, tracking her NightWing kidnappers. They arrive at the Scorpion Den.
Kestrel said Dune found Sunny’s egg around the Scorpion Den, but they were both dead now. Will Sunny find her parents?
Getting imprisoned in Burn’s stronghold gives her a chance to think. It’s obvious this war needs to end, but how will the dragonets do it? Can Sunny and her friends save the world? Can they bring peace to the dragon tribes? Can she find the lost treasure of the SandWings and choose a good queen?
My favourite part is when Sunny finds her parents.
I recommend this book to year 3+ because of fantasy violence.
I rate this book 10/10 because it’s my 2nd favourite in the Dragonet Prophecy series.

This book is about 2 people called Andy and Terry who live in a treehouse and Terry got his underpants swallowed by a shark. T
here are also some evil pirates and a lady named Jill, who loves animals. The book has lots of different stories in it that keep the reader interested.
I really liked that it had different stories.
My most favourite part is when Terry’s underpants got swallowed by the sharks and Terry, Andy and Jill had to do surgery on the sharks.

I would rate this book 8 out of 10 because it is one of my favourite books.

The Lego Book by Daniel Lipkowitz

The Lego Book is about Lego. At the start of the book, like all great books, it tells you about the author and where he got his ideas.
The book goes through the history of Lego and it shows you the different kinds of Lego models you can create with the different brick styles.
It shows the scale model of bricks, and you can see the different brick builds from 6 all the way to a 700 brick build.
My favourite part is everything from start to finish, in particular the history behind the Lego and the timeline of how it progressed.
I would recommend this book to 4 years old and up because younger kids can’t play with Lego yet.
I rate this book 10/10 because each page is filled with excitement and imagination.

Sky Dragon: Fly Free by Anh Do

Reviewed by Faith M. BPS

This book is about a girl called Amber who is lost in a desert. Agent Ferris is looking for her. She is sitting behind a tree. Her foot is sore so she hops all the way home. She finds a cave and glow worms show her the way out of the cave.
Amber gets home to her grandmother and had soup for dinner.
Amber goes to Justin’s house and they talk for a while. Justin shows Amber the creek. It looks so beautiful.
Next, people were going to burn the library so that the agents have another building to work in. People made signs saying 'stop burning the place of learning' and 'books not bombs'.
Towards the end of the book Agent Ferris shocks Amber with a taser because she is their enemy.
My favourite part is when Amber flew on an insect shaped as a dragon and Reggie, AKA Firefight, was on the insect. He fell off the dragon shaped incest soaring in the sky. Luckily, the agent found Reggie and he was ok.
I recommend this book to grade 3 to grade 4 because it was easy but hard to read as there is some tricky words.
The books is happy but also sad and it had a bit of drama.
I rate this book 9.5/10 because it was a lovely book.

So the first bit is where Greg is talking about his holiday. His dad made him join the swim team and he found a trick for getting out of it. He would hide in the bathroom which was more cold than the freezing pool.
The end was really quirky and weird. It was at a talent show where his mum was up on stage dancing.
I recommend this for 8 to 100 years old.
I give it a 10/10 because it's the best book I've read in a long time. But it did have one thing I didn't like: Rowley!
