Fancy Nancy by Jane O'Connor

Fancy Nancy is about a girl named Nancy. She loves being fancy and doing stuff like writing with a pen that has a plume(feather) on the end, learning French, accessorising and so much more. Nancy’s family consist of her, her little sister, mum and dad but they don’t know how to be fancy.
They don’t understand stuff like how a princess is supposed to keep her tiara on and that sandwiches do taste better with frilly toothpicks in them. So Nancy teaches her family how to be fancy like her.
They soon go out for dinner and after the main course Nancy goes to get dessert, and she trips and falls ice cream goes everywhere.
They go back home and Nancy learns that you don’t have to be fancy all the time and some of the most meaningful things aren’t fancy.
I recommend this book to ages 3-8 because it’s a shorter read.
I liked the pictures in the book, they would definitely engage younger readers as there is lots of detail in them.
​I give it a 7/10 it’s a really good book, just a little short. 

Maggie Sparks and the Camping Chaos by Steve Smallman

Maggie and her friend Arthur were going on vacation with Maggie’s parents. Maggie and Arthur thought they were going on a beach holiday.
When they arrive Maggie’s grandad was standing behind a big wood sign that said ‘Sunny Skies Woodland Wonder Park’.
There was a competition and the family entered and they called themselves the Bright Sparks, and they won.
The book also comes with a free audiobook, you can QR code to listen.
This book would be good for 8 to 10-year-olds.
I rate this book a 7 out of 10. I did not enjoy the end as it was a boring ending. 

Wonder by R.J. Palacio

 This book wonder by RJ Palacio i about a boy could August’s who has a disease like Treacher Collins Syndrome. It causes his face to look a bit different to other people, like his nose is in a different place.
Around the end of this book August makes friends and is having fun with a friend called Jack.
I liked this book because it shows just because peoples faces are different like August it doesn’t mean you have to be mean to them or bully them.
I would recommend this book to people who like chapter books, funny books and books that have drama.
I would rate this book an 9/10, because at some points it could be a bit better, like when it talked about the doctor farting. The author could have used a bit more show don’t tell.

Guts by Raina Telgemeier

Guts is a book about a girl named Raina, who has a fear of throwing up. Her parents take her to a therapist to help her overcome her fear after it gets out of control and starts to take over her life.
I found this book interesting and fun to read and I want to keep reading more of Raina Telgemeier’s books.
I would recommend this for ages 7 to 15 because of the topic of the story and there is also some challenging words.
​I give this book a 7/10.

Plague by Jackie French

In this story the ibis hunted the insects and kept their numbers low.
We quite liked how it went back of fourth between times.
We thought it would make it a bit better if Jackie French made it rhyme. We still did like the book.
We would recommend this book to any primary school students from prep to year 6s. We liked it very much.

Diary of a Pug #2: Pug's Snow Day by Kyla May

Have you ever been scared to do something in your life? Well in this story called Bub and a girl called Bella have a snow day which Bub is not very happy with it the snow day.
One day a cat called Duchess who lives in the apartment that Bub lives in right now told him the snow is frozen water and Bubba is terrified of water but he doesn't know why.
I like this book because it’s funny and because this pug is telling a story.
I would recommend this book to people who like diaries or like Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Pig the Pug.
I rate this book a 6.5/10,​ because this is a good book but i think that it is more a little kid book.

Ella Diaries #13: Goal Power by Meredith Costain

This is a story about Ella's friend named Ammy and she is starting a soccer club only for girls.
Zoe, Ella and Ammy are an LSCC which stands for lunchtime soccer club committee. It is so fun until dun dun duuuuuuun! Her enemy Princess Peach and her besties Prinny and Jade are joining and Ella's not happy.
There were these people that were in Peaches' gym class called Aisha and Carly that joined the soccer club as well.
After they had practice they did voting for who was going to be leader of the teams Sharks and Minnows, and guess who voted for Ella? Zero people, not even her best friend Zoe who voted for Ammy instead.
I liked this book because the ending was very good, just like in movies were like they live happily ever after.
I recommend this book for people who are seven and up to thirteen 
I rate this book 9/10, because I pretty much liked it, but near the start it became less interesting.
This book is really amazing that you should try reading it yourself!

Dinosaurs Love Underpants by Ben Cort

One day there was caveman and he was embarrassed because they were nude so they made underpants. They were okay for a bit.
The dinosaurs came and the caveman thought they were going to eat them, but no, the dinosaurs wanted their underpants.
So the dinosaur tried to take the underpants and then he tripped. The underpants made stegosaurus itchy. The dinosaurs had a tug of war with the underpants.
The ages I would choose for this book for are 3 to 7. If you like dinosaurs you will like this

Possum Magic by Mem Fox

In the Australian bush lived two possums named Hush and Grandma Poss. Grandma Poss can make magic. The best magic of all was to make Hush invisible.
The adventures that Hush had! Hush could slide down kangaroos, be safe from snakes, and be squashed by koalas. But Hush wanted to know what she looked like.
To make Hush be seen Hush had to eat lots of Australian food like a vegemite sandwich, a piece of pavlova, and a lamington. They had to travel around Australia to find all this food.
Some of the strengths in this book were the illustrations and the water colour in the picture they explained the emotion and the magic that Grandma Poss made. Some of the other books that Mem Fox wrote were The Magic Hat, Koala Lou, The Tram to Bondi Beach and Davy and the Duckling.
I recommend this book for children 8-13 years old because some of the words like unexpectedly and adventures could be harder for younger children.

Ninja Kid #12: Hypno Ninja! by Anh Do

Nelson's grandma invented a cool, mind blowing hypno ring.
Nelson and Kenny, Nelson's cousin, snuck it to school to hypnotize themselves, so they won't worry about their maths test, but got carried away and started making everybody's wishes come true.
They thought of doing something bad to Charles, but someone posted videos of them hypnotizing peopl.
Dr Kane snuck in and then the battle began. 
I liked this book because it was interesting and not making it the good guys win every time. 
I recommend it for anyone.
I rate it 10/10. It was so funny at some points.

We're Going on a Croc Hunt by Laine Mitchell

The main characters are the wombat and other creatures.
The settings are a swamp, rocks, sandy desert and a cave.
The problem is going though hard scary places and trying to survive.
The solution is they worked together to run back.
It has lots of describing words like very hot, wet, reedy, crunch, scurry and sneaky. It gives the idea where the characters are.
There are no weaknesses. The book has been written very nicely.
The illustrations were good it was funny.
​The author wants us to have courage and be brave.
My recommended age 5-10 because it is funny and good for kids. 
I rate this book 8/10.

Worst Hero Ever! #1: Feet first by Matt Cosgrove and Eva Amores

The main character is Licky Ricky who didn’t get to choose his superpower. My favourite part about this book is that Licky Ricky’s feet get turned into tongues so every step he took he could taste it, even through his shoes!
It made me think about what superpower I would like and to not muck up ever again, unless I am cooking with mum! So I will never ever at school not listen, not do my work I will always do what I am supposed to do.
I recommend this book for 6+ because it has 9 chapters and the text is about 7 millimetres large and there’s 150 pages.
​I rate it 10/10 because at the start Licky Ricky ask's us if we had a superpower what would it be. I think it is cheeky. Matt Aosgrove and Eva Amores had also written Worst week Ever and Worst Pets Ever.

Witch Hat Altlier, Vol 1 by Kamone Shirahama

Witch Hat Atelier is a manga fantasy series about a girl called Coco. Coco has light green hair and fades away with a dark green, she has golden eyes that glimmer, and glow, bright.
Coco bought a strange book from a festival, it had an interesting printing on the cover.
Coco is a witch but she doesn’t know how to control her spells or her power, and a guy who is called Qifrey.
Qifrey came to Coco’s home in a strange carriage with Pegasus using their big fluffy wings to fly where Coco and her mum were working. He came wanting fabric but Coco’s mum was busy so Coco used her talent and got working!
After, they heard a loud bang from the yard and Coco, her mum, and Qifrey came running to the yard wondering what was happening. Two little boys were playing dangerously and were hitting the carriage and it banged on the floor making the loud sound.
Qifrey had his powers and told Coco to go to the other room so she didn’t watch. But Coco was to intrigued and took a sneak peak from the roof. Bad decision…
Later at night Qifrey was staying for the night and she grabbed the strange book and copied what she saw in the book but…I’m going to leave it at that sorry for the cliff-hanger but I don’t want to spoil it!
I like that how detailed the book is!
I recommend this book for year 3's and up because I think anime is for older people and because it’s got pretty difficult words.
​I rate this book a 10/10. Its one of my favourite books and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series!

Rise of the Mythix #1: Golden Unicorn by Anh Do

This book is about Kelly, an ordinary teenager who discovers that she is apart of an ancient prophecy meant to destroy the soul collector otherwise known as William James.
The soul collector is a rich man who uses a magical artifact called Lucifers Ring to turn reality into paintings.
After Kelly’s mum is captured by the soul collector’s soldiers, the Kingdom Guard, or more commonly known as the Hornets or KG, she is determined to free the North Kingdom from his reign of terror.
Kelly becomes known as the golden unicorn, identified by the horn on her head.
With the help of Stanley, a former archaeologist for the soul collector, she barely escapes William's grasp.
My favourite thing about Kelly is that she is super fast. My favourite part in the book is when Kelly escapes the KG in the supermarket because it is suspenseful.
I recommend this book to children aged 7+ who like adventure stories because it is exciting, but could be scary for some kids.
​ I rate this book 9/10 because it’s awesome, but the soul collector is kind of creepy.

Amulet #1: The Stonekeeper by Kazu Kibuishi

Amulet is a graphic novel about a girl named Emily, her brother Navin, and their mum. Sadly, their dad died in a car crash, their mum was lucky to escape.
Two years later, they moved into a haunted house. Their mum said it’s nice there. They had to clean the haunted house, but at noon, Emily found a magic neck lace. Emily wondered what it was. Navin came and asked where did she get that necklace from. Emily replied that she just found it there.
Late one night their mum heard a noise. There was a quiet whisper that sounded like a growl. It sounded like it was coming from the basement.
My favourite part was when Emily and Navin went into a secret house that had arms and legs, then it began to move.
I recommend this book to year 2 and up because it is not appropriate for younger kids.
​I rate this book 10/10 because it’s so good. I really like this book so much.

The Invisible String by Patrice Karst

The book The Invisible String is a heartwarming story about Liza and Jeremy. They are twins. One night a storm wakes them terrified they run to their Mum. Liza and Jeremy don’t want to go back to bed because they won’t be with their mum. That's when Liza and Jeremy’s mum tells them about the invisible string that connects family, friends, neighbours, pets anyone you know and love.
The invisible string can connect anywhere like in space, in the jungle, under the sea anywhere you can think of. It stays when you’re angry because love is stronger than anger.
Knowing this the two fall fast asleep in their beds dreaming about the invisible string and how everyone is connected.
I liked the illustrations and the great message of “no one is alone”, meaning there is always someone who loves you.
I recommend the book for ages 3-8 because it’s a great message and a really good book, but It’s a picture book so would fit the younger side of the spectrum.

Crazy Weird! by Anh Do

This book is about Weir getting braces but he’s afraid to get them because he thinks he will spit whenever he talks like Max Gribble. So he faced his fears and got his braces.
Weir felt fine when he first got his braces though, because his dad had ‘head braces’. When he got braces but his dad just played along with it so he didn’t get bullied. So that made Weir more confident.
At the fair Bella had to go home early because she had to go somewhere. The evaluation is it has a couple difficult words but other then that the words were easy to say and pronounce. My opinion is the book is really funny and silly.
I recommend the reading age to be 9+ because some words might be difficult to younger readers and their meaning.
Other Anh Do books are Wolf Girl, Hot Dog, Ninja girl, Kung Fu Roo and Pow Pow Pig.
I rate this book a 8/10.

Blue Flower by Sonya Hartnett

This book is about learning how to accept that you’re different and that’s okay.
We liked the book because it had a good message.
We thought that the book was quite nice and we liked that she learnt to accept herself.
We recommend this book to ages 9 and up because it had a good message but it was a strong message.
We rate the book a solid 8/10.
​The book just had a little bit too much writing. Pretty good book!

Rachel's War by Mark Wilson

Rachel’s War is a book about a brave nurse called Rachel who fought in World War 2 with her best friend Elsie. They had to treat 100s of 1000s of wounded soldiers.
After moving from place to place Elsie and Rachel settle down in a hospital they soon get bombed. Rachel has a life long injury that affects her breathing caused from the bomb.
We liked the book because of the interesting pictures that show the storyline realistically.
We would recommend this book for ages 7-14 that are interested in learning about war.
​We rate this book a 7/10 because we really like the storyline in descriptive words used.

Goosebumps Slappyworld #16: Slappy in Dreamland by R. L. Stine

In this book Richard has a ventriloquist dummy called Slappy. Slappy was the kind of thing that would give you nightmares.
One day Richard took Slappy to his Mum's work and hooks him up to a machine that can see your dreams and blood pressure.
One hook up clapping shows a sign of brain power which shouldn’t be possible for a wooden dummy. It leaves Richard and his mum shocked.
After that Slappy keeps showing up in Richard‘s nightmares and starts doing impossible things like a school mural and eating a kids birthday cake at their party.
Will Richard work out what’s going on or will Slappy be alive forever?
I recommend this book for ages 8-12 who can do scary things and also because it’s a wide series, keeping that age group entertained for a long time.
I like the thrill of the book and the cliffhangers that kept me going.
​I rate it a 7/10 because its a really good book, just not my favourite.

Do Not Open this Book Or Else by Andy Lee

Even though the reader is meant not to open the book and turn the pages, the reader ignores the warning so they can read the book.
Tricks and sarcasm from Wiz don't stop the reader from reading the book.
As the reader enjoys the book, the reader doesn't notice that for every time they turn the page, Wiz shrinks.
This is a funny book. It is a book that could be read to a toddler as they would enjoy it. Children's seven and eight-year-olds could read this with a little help and enjoy it.
I rate this book 10/10 it is an amazing book overall.

I think everyone should read this book.

The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery

This book is about a little prince who goes on adventures.
It’s a short story and the little prince makes new friends. He goes to other planets and meets new people.
My favourite part is where the prince meets the fox and the fox teaches him about love.
I think kids would like this book.

Tashi and the Golem by Anna Fienberg

This novel is about a young boy called Tashi. Right now he is telling a story about the time he created a Golem to his schoolfriends. He created the Golem to get rid of the baron's nephew the bully Bang Bang. Everyone is sick & scared of him.
My favourite part of the book was when Tashi created the Golem because he creates magic.
My least favourite part was when Bang Bang was bullying everyone.
I recommend this wonderful book for 7 year old’s and up.

The book is full of amazing facts about things like, according to legend, if you put an emerald under your tongue you will be able to see the future.
The thing I liked most about this book is that it tells you facts about anything and everything you could ever want to know.
I recommend this for year 3's to year 7's because some of the pictures are funny and help you understand the fact better.

Mega Rich Guinea Pigs by Kate and Jol Temple

This book is about four Guinea Pigs that become the richest animals in the world.
They are Lunk, Hot Head, G-Chip and Big Pig. Big Pig is actually a capybara but he thinks he is a guinea pig. G-Chip and Big Pig are twins but they are kind of opposites though.
Magnus McAloon, the richest man in the world, just exploded in a rocket accident. KABOOM!
My favourite part of the story was when they went to the guinea pig protection society and Magnus McAloon’s family forced her to go on a cruise of cat food.
I would recommend this book for children aged 6 years and older because it is funny and easy to read.
I rate this book 8/10.

​Joan in the Cone is a picture book about a dog in a cone.
Joan is ruining the birthday party. She ruins it by knocking down the table and the cake.
The characters are Joan, Louise and a cat.
My favourite part is when Joan ruined the birthday party because it was funny! I
recommend this book to year 1’s and up because it is funny and because my friends liked it too.

Nevermoor by Jessica Townsend

Nevermoor is about Morrigan Crow. Morrigan is a cursed child and on her 11th birthday she’s destined to die.
But when a man called Jupiter saves her life and takes her to Nevermoor. Nevermoor is a place for magic and curiosity.
Morrigan has to face 4 challenges to get into the wundrous society. The book trial, the chase trial, the fright trial and the show trial.
If Morrigan doesn’t make it in to the wundrous society and gets called out for being there illegally, she’ll get kicked out of Nevermoor and die. Will Morrigan crow survive or die?
I liked this book because of the magical and fantasy factor.
I recommend it for ages 8-12 because its 448 pages long and that could be challenging for the younger side of things.
I give it a 8.5/10, because I really loved the book just not my favourite.

1000 Amazing Weird Facts by D. K. Publishing

This book had a LOT of unusual and truly weird facts, but they were extremely cool!
I really liked it because I love space and cool facts and they really had me on my toes!
I would recommend this book to ages 6+ because it was a little challenging to read.
​It is a 9.5/10 because it is cool so you should definitely read it!

Piranhas Don't Eat Bananas by Aaron Blabey

This book is about a piranha that is different to the other piranhas.
He’d rather fruit and veg than human body parts.
He bribes the others to eat a fruit platter. After they did they still said they’d rather eat bums.
I recommend this book to children or the 3-6 age group because it’s funny and it has lots of drawings.
I didn’t like it because it didn’t suit me.

The Ghost Locket by Allison Rushby

Olivia has a fear of her aunty's house. She used to call them shadows but now she’s older she knows they're not, they're spirits.
As she promised to go back there, she has to go to the place of her nightmares. But when she goes back their secrets are revealed and Olivia meets a ghost called Cara.
Cara’s soul has been attached to an object in the house. Can Olivia find the object or will Cara’s soul stay there forever?
I liked the mystery in the start, but by the middle I’d already figured out the whole book. I worked out how the book was going to end.
I recommend it to ages 8-10 because it's a nice length chapter book.
I rate it a 5.5/10 because I worked it out half way through.

Valley of Gold by Jackie French

This text is about the goldfields.
A main character is a girl that helps her papa. The police came around every month, but her papa didn’t find gold.
The police came around and dragged her dad away and he was screaming in agony.
She tries to retaliate to get her papa back from the police.
I liked the book because it made a picture in my head while reading.
I recommend this book to people who like reading a bout the goldfields.
I rate this book a 9/10 because it wasn’t my type of book but it had a good story.

Pig the Pug by Aaron Blabey

Pig the Pug is about a pug called pig. Pig lives with Trevor, a sausage dog. Pig has a lot of nice toys.
One day Trevor asks if he can play with Pig because it’ll be more fun with the two of them. Pig goes off, he does not want to share his toys.
Pig stacks all his toys up in a pile right in front of a window. When Pig climbs up to declare that those toys are his he goes tumbling out the window.
Now Pig has changed, not because he’s in a full body bandage, because he shares his toys and plays with Trevor.
I recommend this book for ages 4-8 because its a good picture book and has a good message to not be greedy.
I liked the book because of the details. For example, in the front of the book is a “this book belongs to” and in big red letters is “Pig”.
I give it a 7/10 because I really liked the book I’m just more of a novel person than a picture book person.

How to Bee by Bren MacDibble

This book takes place in a world with no bee’s.
There’s a girl named Peony that has a dream to be a bee. She was so determined she faked her age to just tryout.
The foreman makes them race along a row of trees. They have to pollinate each tree with pollen.
Peony's mum wanted her to come to the city with her but Peony had other plans.
Peony meet’s a girl called Esmarelda in the city. She returns to the farm and sees her gramps.
I think this book is unpeachable because it gave context it also gave me something to read.
I would recommended this book to the 8-12 age group as well to anyone that likes novels.

This book is about a girl named Peony who lives in a world where bees are extinct!
Peony has to work to try and become a bee. Her mum wanted her to work in the city with her for money but Peony didn't want to go. Then Peony gets kidnapped - what happens to her next?
She works at a mansion and meets a girl named Esmeralda.
Will peony get back to the barn?
I recommend this book to ages 7-13 years old since it has the tiniest bit of violence.
I would give it a 9/10 as it was pretty interesting and amazing to read.

Zac Power: Mind Games by H. I. Larry

12 year old Zac Powers is a spy working for the Government Investigation Bureau (GIB)  and was shopping at the West-Bridge Mall for a pair of new, cool sneakers. But his shopping trip turned into a mission to stop hackers hacking into GIB's sate-little system.
Zac saves the day by busting Jimmy Shady after flying a fighter jet, winning a game competition hooning around on a hover scooter and singing karaoke.
This book is suited for grade 3 and plus.
​I got really bored reading this book because I just didn't like the stuff about the book so I would write this book a 4/10. 

The Bad Guys: Episode One by Aaron Blabey

This book is about the main character Mr Wolf, who calls Mr Snake, Mr Shark, Mr Piranha and Ms Tarantula, all well known bad guys and tries to convince them to become good.
They try to save the day but no one likes them so they find it hard to do the right thing.
I like this book because it is quite funny, and quite interesting at the same time.
I would recommend it to people who like to read chapter books with animals in it.

WeirDo #21: Weird Wedding! by Anh Do

After love at first sight, Weir's teacher Miss Franklin has got engaged to Pete the school chef.
Miss Franklin wanted the students to be involved for the wedding. After some mishaps, Bella is the flower girl and Weir is the ring bearer.
Weir's grandma came to stay at his house and needed to find a job. Although she tried many different jobs, but nothing worked out. Then she had the chance to bake the wedding cake. After many mishaps the wedding was a great day.
As with Anh Do's books there is always a big disaster, with someone always finding a solution.
I enjoyed this book it was funny and Anh Do always changes a word to match the situation.
I think people that who like romance would like this book and grade 3+.
I rate this book a 10/10 it is a really good book.

Dork Diaries #13: Tales from a Not-So-Happy Birthday by Rachel Renee Russell

A girl named Nikki wants to have a birthday party but her mum doesn't want her to have a big crazy birthday party. Nikki thinks it will make her popular and cool.
I liked this book because I think the characters are funny and my mum loves these books too.
I would recommend this books to girls who like funny books.

This book is about a character called Big Jim being a superhero called Commander Cupcake, and his Grandpa as his trusty side-kick Sprinkles. Dog Man gets introduced later.
They fight crime and the bad guys called Space Cuties.
I liked this book because it is another book in the Dog Man series and is action packed and full of laughs.
I recommend it to kids 6 and up because any kids younger than that wouldn't understand it very much.
​I rate this a 10/10 because it is another book to read about Dog Man and the action and laughs made me not want to stop reading it!

The 13-Storey Treehouse by Andy Griffiths

In this story there were two boys, Andy and Terry, and they lived in a treehouse.
They decide to buy sea monkeys and put them in a jar but one grows BIGGER and BIGGER and has to go in the bath until it becomes a mermaid.
I liked this book because it was funny and interesting and would be perfect for people who like really funny books.

Bea Wolf by Zach Weinersmith

This is about a children who have a treehouse and have to defeat their neighbour Mr Grindles and his evil henchmen the Chigons.
There is one kids who wants to change the world and that is Bea Wolf.
This book was really cool, funny to read and had me hooked on reading this book.
I would recommend it to 9 year olds and older.

In this short story Trevor's appendix had to be cut out, but all of a sudden his appendix started to eat everything and he didn't know what to do.
I liked this book because it was equal parts horrifying, hilarious and surprising.
I think 10 year olds and older should read this because it has some very unusual events.
​I rate this book an 8/10 because it made me laugh and it is a great fiction book.

Green Eggs and Ham by Dr Seuss

Sam tried to convince the main character to eat green eggs and ham with a bunch of things like do you like them in a box or with a fox.
He ends up trying them and he is surprised that he likes it and they are delicious.
I really enjoyed this book because it rhymes.
It would be perfect for ages 3 and up because it is funny but some kids might need their parents help.
​I rate this book a 6.7/10 because it was cool like my favourite tv show.

“What a day Maddie whispered”. In this story Maddie is lucky enough to get chosen to go to the Crickomania carnival ran by a very rich person called Harold Abbott. He lived in a massive 3 story house. That 3 story house was were the kids stayed. It also had a cricket Museum and virtual cricket nets, he had everything you could imagine.
All the kids that were there had to do an application, but the kids that were there weren’t the best they were there because of their application and how much they said they liked cricket.
There was one part of the book though that I didn’t like. I didn’t like it because it told you everything that was going to happen through out the book. I think that they should have used show don’t tell.
I recommend this book for year 2 and upwards.
That’s why this book deserves a 9/10.

The Very Clever Bear by Nick Bland

The circus was in the jingle jangle jungle and they needed animals to perform. But Bear couldn't do tricks like the other animals and the owner sent him on the way.
Bear practiced and built a unicycle and when he returned he saw that the animals were sad and scared. Bear rescued the animals and hoped never to see the circus again.
This book is best suited for adults to read to toddlers and for grade 1 up.

Yesterday's Crumb and the Storm in a Teacup by Andy Sagar

It all starts with a girl called Yesterday Crumb with fox ears, locked in a cage at the circus. After she runs off with a ‘not raven’ she discovers she is a tea witch but has been separated from the magical world and she was locked in the human world.
Before getting to the magical world she comes across a mysterious man who tricks her in to signing something and he puts a deadly shard of ice in her heart. She only has a month before the Winter solstice which was when her heart would freeze fully and she would die.
In the cure they have to find a mournful rose, but by the time they get to the place it should be, she only has a few hours left and they had many distractions along the way!
I liked this book because it was full of new surprises and problems.
I recommend this book for 9 to 12 year olds who like magical stories.

Tilly (Matilda) lives with her grandparents in a book shop. Her mum is missing and there are lots of secrets to be to be told.
She discovers that she has the ability to book wander and can adventure inside stories.
I liked this story because it was full of surprises, adventures and secrets. It also left me wanting to read more at the end of every chapter.
I would recommend it for anyone over the age of 8.

Edith must stay at her uncle’s house who she has never met but has been told he is a vet. Edith always had these terrible headaches that seem to happen when she sees an animal.
Edith arrives at her uncle’s house in the middle of the woods. She is told by Betty, the housekeeper, to never go into the big red barn.
She soon discovers a rare ability that had caused all her headaches and is able to help the doctor save one of his patients.
Once she sees the animals inside the big red barn the patients aren’t any normal animals, they are magical! She soon convinces the doctor to take her on an extremely dangerous journey to the Himalayas to save a Yeti. Eddie’s power is magical and extremely rare!
I liked this book because of Eddie’s powers surprises and exiting adventures! I recommend this book for ages 10+.

Escape from Mr Lemoncello's Library by Chris Grabenstein

Kyle must quickly do an essay to win one of the 12 spots to play games, have fun and sleepover at the new library that is opening soon. Somehow, he makes it to the last spot to be able to go. They play many games with extreme prizes.
Before they can leave, they must escape the library without using the door they came in and setting off fire alarms (using fire exits) or they would be eliminated and go home without the big prize. They must work out hard clues and beat Charles Chiltington and his team. Will they make it out in time?
I liked this book because the characters were interesting and some of the riddles they had I could try and work out as well.
I recommend this book for ages 9+.

Bowerbird Blues by Aura Parker

The picture book Bowerbird Blue is about a friendly blue bird that is a collector who only finds blue things to add to his collection. He finds more and more every day, like caps, pegs and whatever he can find. Even though the bird loves blue things, he actually is happier when he meets another bird.
The author is trying to tell the reader that relationships are more important than having lots of fancy things.
The pictures look like they are based on real photos that have be taken.
Our favourite part of the book was when bowerbird blue dives into the water and he said he could not survive the temperature of the water. But of course he does.
We recommend this book to students in Year 1 and up. It is an easy read and it is a funny book for children and adults.
We rate this book 9/10 because it is a magical story that everyone will enjoy.

I am an Artist by Marta Altes

This book is about a young boy who sees art everywhere he looks, but his mum sees it from a very different perspective.
The boy creates things that most people think are a big mess, but to him it is a work of art. He loves all things art related, and often his art drives his mum crazy.
At the end of the book the boy tries to make an artwork that his mum will love - but she will probably think that it’s a big mess.
Our favourite thing about the boy is how he is inspired by what is often overlooked around him, like a single carrot on a plate.
​Our favourite things about the book itself is when he makes his Multiple Self Portrait, and the Ode to His Mum.
We recommend this book to younger readers who are looking for a nice short book.
We rate this book 9/10 stars for its artistic style.

The book is about a young boy who is about 5 years old doing art at home. In his eyes it's art, for example, he sees a window but his mum sees a hole in the wall. He makes everyday things seem creative.
The story is set at the boy’s house. He goes into different rooms such as the hall way, kitchen, bathroom, his bedroom and outside into the garden. He finds art everywhere.
I like that he has a creative, wild, crazy and great imagination.
I recommend this book for Kinder up to grade 2 because it is quite easy for me in grade 3.
I rate this book 5/10 because it is a very easy book to read and I was just reading it for some enjoyment.

Moody Cow Meditates by Kerry Lee Maclean

The Moody Cow is about a cow named Peter and he had a terrible day. First, he had an extremely bad dream. He wanted his mum but he couldn’t find her anywhere.
Next, he found his annoying little sister Daisy drawing on his brand-new skate board. He told her to stop but she did not, he was furious! He grabbed her tail & pulled hard.
Then he got in trouble so he missed the bus for school. As you can imagine, his day continued to be full of disasters and things went from bad to worse.
At the end of the day, his mum called his grandpa and he came over to help until the wasn’t so moody.
What we liked about the book was when the Moody cow meditated because we also meditate at school and it’s really lovely and calming.
We recommend this book to adults and children of all ages because it teaches you a lesson.
We rate this book 9/10 because it is hilarious but also very long.

This story is about a girl called Danielle. One day her family decided to clean the attic. They found lots of strange books and strange things up there. Danielle’s Aunty and Uncle had a fight and then took all of the books except for one, so Danielle took it. When she looked in it, there were nothing on the pages. That night she drew the head of a prince from her favourite movie Solar Sister! The head of Prince Neptune popped out of the book.
But Danielle drew something so she and her friends can save the world from Prince Neptune. Danielle and her friends sent Neptune to the moon forever.
My favourite part was when Prince Neptune gets a body and turns evil and tries to take over. 
I recommend this book for Year 3 and up but I think it might be too hard for students in Year 2 and below because some words are too hard and some of them might not be able to read it.
​I rate this book 10/10 because it’s a mystery book and if you like mystery this book is for you.

Accidentally Kelly Street by Briony Stewart

The book is about a family moving houses to Kelly Street. Accidentally Kelly Street is also a song.
In the book, the street is in a friendly neighbourhood, where everyone is kind.
It is also about how you don’t have to be worried when you move house.
Our favourite part is a page where everyone is saying hi to their new neighbours and waving and smiling. It is very important to welcome people to your street or your neighbourhood. You can say hello in a nice voice, and get to know them.
The song is an upbeat, friendly, unforgettable and catchy.
The pictures in the book are really detailed and interesting, it makes you feel like you’re there. It looks like a nice place to live.
We recommend this book for young kids and school aged children.
We rate the book 10/10 because it is awesome and it has a nice background story.

Crumbs by Phil Cummings

Crumbs is a book about 3 main characters, they are Ella, her dad and a homeless person. The story is set in the city with interesting pictures.
Crumbs for us is an excellent, relaxing book. It makes you think about how sad and happy you are at the same time for other people. It made us feel a bit sad and happy.
Our favourite part was when Ella’s dad invited the homeless person for lunch, because it is really kind to invite someone for lunch even if they are a stranger.
The author is trying to tell the readers about being kind and helping others who don’t have as much as us.
We like Crumbs because it’s awesome and interesting and we recommend this book to students from prep to Year 6 or anyone. People of all ages can be reminded about being kind.

Then they moved to a new town and he found a friend named Gus.
I think this book is good for 12 year olds and people are interested in space.

Bug Scouts #2: Camp Out! by Mike Lowery

I've read the book Bug Scouts Camp Out, written by Mike Lowery. I picked this book because I like graphic novels. Sometimes people call graphic novels comic books.
There are four characters: the spider's name is Josh, the worm's name is Abby, the fire fly's name is Luna, and the fly's name is Doug.
When they went camping they made smores and tried to tell ghost stories but Doug got scared. It made me laugh when Doug got scared.
They made a new friend named Caleb, who joined the camp.
At the end of the book they decided to camp at home because it was too noisy. I
enjoyed this book because it made me laugh and I like the pictures.
I think this book would suit grade 3/4s.
I rate this book a 10/10.

Flood by Jackie French

The dog was the first to know about the flood. It was only rain, then became stronger and stronger until it became a flood. The flood soon covered the city, then people across Australia came to help.
With all the chaos a little tugboat was pushing a powerline so everyone could get past. Then the tugboat rowed away into the distance then you barely could see the little tugboat.
I like how the illustrator put detail into the story and the author had detail in her writing she really described it and put feeling into her writing.
This book could be compared to Emily and the BIG BAD Bunyip: what they have in common with it’s describing.
​In my opinion this book made me feel content because lots of people came across Australia to help with the flood.
I think this book should be 8+.
I rate this book 4/10.

The Peasant Prince by Li Cunxin

The small young little boy was very poor. His dad very kindly told him tales like this one. Their once was a little frog he lived in a well, he once asked another frog if she could come down to play with him. She said no because its better up on land rather than in a well, the frog was very depressed. He tried and tried to jump and climb up the well, but he was just falling. His dad said its ok don’t worry about her its better down here.
The weakness is that they didn’t say the young boy’s name.
Strengths is that this book is very detailed I love the pictures and the water paint.
This book is very heart warming. I really like this book it is a page turner. The reason I love this book so much is because it teaches young and old people to never give up. This book makes me feel very joyful for the young boy.
I recommend this book to people who like unique books, and books that are based on a true story. 
I recommend this book from age 7 to any age.
I rate this book overall 10/10. 

Fox by Margaret Wild

Fox takes Magpie to the far away red desert. Magpie tries very hard to fly back to Dog.
The orange Fox betrayed Magpie. Dog was very worried about Magpie because he couldn’t find her. Dog was Magpies burnt wing. And Magpie was Dogs missing eye.
Magpie can’t really fly but at the end she try’s really hard to, and she flew. This book made me feel happy because Magpie at first didn’t trust Fox. She said 'I am Dogs missing eye and he is my burnt wing'. But when Dog went to the river she went for a little ride with Fox. But he left her at the very hot red desert to die.
Although it was hard for Magpie to fly she try’s very hard and she surprisingly flew because she knew Dog was very worried about her.
I recommend reading age 5+ I recommend this great book to anyone who likes nature and animals.
I rate it 10/10.

Monster Chef by Nick Bland

This book is about a monster that cooks food to scare kids and enjoys surprises.
Monster Chef try's to scare little kids and fails so he try's to cook yucky food. It worked, so he opens a restaurant and serves yucky food to people if they are rude. Monster Chef scares kids in this generation.
This book can be compared to The Very Cranky Bear.
I did not like it because its not my style.
I recommend it for ages 5/6/7. Its entertaining for kids.

I’m a hero too is about a little boy named Arty. When COVID 19 hits Arty can’t do his favourite things like going to kinder, going to the cafe with his dad, visiting his granny and so much more.
Arty notices a lot of changes and his mum starts talking in whispers saying “this conversation isn’t for little ears”. His dad works from home and starts saying “go away”. When he and his granny go for walks they have to hold a skipping rope between them.
Arty doesn’t like the change so he decides to help the world go back. Arty knows washing your hands for 20 seconds, not drinking from water taps, coughing into your elbow and more can help stop spreading germs. Arty also knows that one day he can go to the cafe, go to kinder, play footy and ballet and maybe even play on the play ground.
I liked the book because I knew what it was like missing kinder, missing birthday parties, calling and texting being the only way of communicating, zoom calling for class, never seeing friends and family. I remember sitting at home so bored because I'd played with everything and watched every DVD. This book really describes how hard it was getting sick and being cooped up at home.
I recommend this book for people who experienced COVID 19 because if you didn’t you don’t really know what they're talking about where’s people who actually experienced COVID 19 can really picture what Arty is going through.
​I give it a 9/10 because how I feel the book was repeating my past which is cool. It’s a really great book and I definitely recommend it!

Nevermoor #2 - Wundersmith: The Calling of Morrigan Crow by Jessica Townsend

​In this book Morrigan is a Wundersmith. After all last year trying to get into the Wundrous society she doesn’t exactly feel welcome at Wunsoc. Her power is out of control, she only has one class about how one Wundersmiths were terrible and selfish and Charleston 5 keeps trying to kill her.
The black market is taking people and putting them up for auction. Once Ezra Squall takes her there she must stop it. But will she?
I really liked it. Kirkus said ‘readers will feel as though Harry Potter is meeting Alice in Wonderland’ and I totally agree.
It’s a great mix of mystery, magic and friendship.
I recommend it to ages 7-14 because it could work for a big age group because it’s a long book (467 pages), which fits an age group and I feel like that age group would really enjoy it.
​I give it a 9/10 because I really like the magical, fantasy aspect.

It was funny, enthralling and wasn’t like every other story where the good guys always win every battle. And there were a lot of pictures and a good amount of words.
I would recommend this book to eight to fourteen year old's, because it was age appropriate

I liked how they spent their free time looking for injured and hurt animals and saved the two young people.

Karen’s teacher Mrs. Colman, said that they will be having a spelling contest and Karen won all of them except for the last one because she got too confident.
When she was going to spell convertible she spelled it as convertable and she was being a sore loser.
I recommend it to anyone who has read and liked the Babysitters books.
I rate it 10/10 for how Karen’s was being a sore winner. (I might also be a sore winner if I won a contest.)

Impossible Creatures by Katherine Rundell

In this book Chis got caught up in trying to save the immortal (Mal) even though he is an outlander. I think that’s what they called him.
A murderer was following them and trying to kill Mal, sadly he killed Glefin, Mal's griffin.
I liked how it was always in suspense and the way they talk is accurate like “If captain welcomes you I welcomes you, if not i bites you...should i half bites them” (pg 82)
Some bits I found funny, some other bits I was on the edge of my chair it is a good book to do a novel study on as well as a book review.
​I recommend this book to anyone between the ages of 9 and 15 or anyone who likes a challenge and mythical creatures.
I rate this book a 9.5/10 because most of it was, funny, tense, and exciting.

Sweet Valley Twins #1: Best Friends by Francine Pascal

Baby-Sitters Little Sister #1: Karen's Witch by Ann M. Martin

This story is a not so great one. It’s about two friends called Karen Brewer and Hannie Papadakis. In this book Karen's dad’s house supposedly lives next to a witch called Tabitha Porter but Karen calls her by Morbidda Destiny. She wears long robes she has wild grey hair that is super curly. She also has a black cat name midnight.
Karen’s parents are split up and at her dad‘s house there’s a rule: no spying on the neighbours. But Karen seems to forget that most of the time.
Karen is determined to show her family that Mrs Porter is a witch so Karen calls her Morbidda Destiny.
One sunny day Morbidda Destiny was having a meeting at her house so Karen took that as an opportunity to go over and call all of them witches and warlocks.
I don’t really like this book because it is all about witches and I know they’re not real but I just don’t have an interest in reading about them.
I would recommend this book to people who have an interest in witches.
I rate this book a 4.5/10.

Becoming Brianna by Terri Libenson

Becoming Brianna is a great book. It is a comic and a novel about a girl who has some friend problems and also problems at home with her parents.
Her mum makes her do a thing called a Bat Mitzvah with her heritage background because when her mum was her age she did the same thing. She wants it to keep going throughout the family.
Her mom and dad are split up and at school her best friend Emmie is being mean to her and making her life tough for her at home and at school.
This book has a feature where it keeps going from then and now. I like this book because of that feature in the book.
I recommend this book to kids over the age of 7 because it has some tricky words in it like Bat Mitzvah.
I rate this book a 9/10 because I love stories with features where it goes back and forth to then and now.

Agents of S.U.I.T. by John Patrick Green

This book is about a special agent. He wants to do all the big exciting missions.
He believed he was not a part of the team, so he was given a different mission.
I love this because all of the others in the series are about Investigators. 
I liked the different characters to read about.
I would recommend this book for 8 and up because it is a easy read and it is a cool read.
I rate this book about 7/10 because it was interesting but it did get confusing at times

Big Bash League #4: Bowling Blitz by Michael Panckridge

Jimmy was sitting with the New York Yankees and had just got chosen to bowl/represent them by going and bowling the first ball of a T20 match. That was a bit that I liked but not my favourite part.
My favourite part was when Jimmy bowled the ball and didn’t play for the team he was representing or any team there and bowled and hit the stumps winning the club $2,000. Then he ended up playing in their semi final the next day.
I would recommend this book for cricket lovers as it is a very good cricket book.
That’s why this book deserves a solid 9.5/10!

Animals are pets but not all animals are pets. Dangerous animals can’t be pets because they can kill you like hippos and snakes.
If you like dangerous animals this is the book for you. I couldn’t put the book down.

This book is for you if you love gems, minerals or crystals. In this incredible book there is lots of information and activities about gems.
Fun fact: the ancient Egyptians wore Amethyst necklaces to keep bad vibes away. These protective trinkets are called amulets.
I loved this book because it was fun and amusing.
I recommend this book to 8-13 year old people because it could be easier for some people than others.
Overall I would rate it 10/10 because it is the best book because it has information and activities that were fun.

The Short-Sighted Giraffe by A. H. Benjamin

This book is about a female giraffe who is short sighted. She ran into everything.
Her animal friends made a pair of glasses but she refused to wear them because she thought she looked weird. But she finally wore them.
We really liked this book because it was funny but taught a good lesson of trying new stuff if you don’t like.
We recommend this book to ages 6 and lower because it was easy for us so we think it will suit those ages.
We rate this book a 7.5/10 because it was a little easy for us.

Baby-Sitters Little Sister #7: Karen's Haircut by Ann M. Martin

It started off with Karen feeling insecure about herself because she kept on losing her baby teeth. She asked her friends for help and they simply said that maybe a haircut would be a difference. Her friends said that there was a new beauty salon in the neighbourhood and that she should go there.
When she arrived at the salon the elegant Gloriana she expected was not the Gloriana she saw. When she got her haircut it was short and boy-ish and she hated her new look. What do you think is going to happen next?
 I strongly suggest this book for 7+ because the lesson was crystal clear.
I rate this book a solid 8/10.

The Wonky Donkey by Craig Smith

​There was a Donkey walking on the road in the countryside. The Donkey walked past a yellow bird. The Donkey only had one leg and one eye.
The book has very good wording and a good setting. It uses good describing words. This book can be compared to Dinky Donkey, Grumpy Monkey, Bark George, Stinky Wonky Donkey.
I like this book because it is a short story and it is very funny.
I think this book is recommended for grade 2 or 3 because it is a picture book and there's not many words.
I rate this book 9/10.

Stuck by Kayla Miller

Olive is going to camp on a bus with her friends Max and Bree, but when they got to Camp Acorn Lake, Max and Bree had a huge fight and now they refuse to speak to each other.
Olive is unhappy because now she is spending all her time with first -time camper Nat. Olive has a challenge to think of a plan to improve the camp. Everyone was wanting to help pitch in, even Max and Bree, but because there was so much drama going on they were lacking teamwork.
After a couple days of having to work together they finally got along with each other and completed Olive’s plan, which was building a fruit and vegetable garden for animals and campers.
I love this book because it shows how the characters are feeling at different times and the illustrations shows a lot of detail even though it’s a cartoon graphic novel.
My least favourite part of the story was the part when Max and Bree had a huge fight, then Olive had a dream about them having another huge fight. Some of the other books that Kayla Milla has written are Break, Crunch and Besties Set Sail. I have read Besties Set Sail this year.
I recommend this amazing book for children 8-13 years of age because it is funny and very interesting, but there are some words that might be harder for younger children to understand especially if they are reading it on their own.
I rate it 10/10.

Sweet Valley Twins #2: Teacher's Pet by Francine Pascal

This book is about two twins called Jessica and Elizabeth. In this novel, they do ballet for there sport. There is a ballet concert coming up. Elizabeth and Jessica have been working extra hard.
At lessons Madame Andre hasn’t been taking notice of Jessica’s outstanding moves and has only been focusing on others.
The performance they will be doing is called SWANDILA. Every one will get an equal chance to perform a solo. This opportunity gets all the girls excited. But it also changed Jessica’s attitude.
I would recommend this book for people aged 6 to 11 years old.

Descendants #1: The Isle of the Lost by Melissa de la Cruz

This book is about the descendants of the Disney fairy tale characters, who banished all the villains to the isle of the lost. There is a dome around the isle of the lost that is designed to keep villains in and magic out.
The main characters of this book are the infamous Jafar, Evil Queen, Cruella De Vil, and Maleficent’s children. Their kids’ names are Jay, Evie, Carlos, and Mal.
King Beast and Queen Belle rule over the United States of Auradon, which is where the Disney characters live. All the children on the isle of the lost are taught to be naughty and rude, which Mal is very good at.
Mal and Jay are partners in crime, and Mal hates Evie because when they were young, Evie had a birthday party and Mal was the only one on the whole isle who wasn’t invited.
When Carlos creates an invention that shoots a whole in the dome, Maleficent’s raven Diablo awakens and so does the source of her power, The Dragon’s Eye.
The four villain kids travel to the forbidden fortress to retrieve The Dragon’s Eye for the Isle’s fearsome ruler.
My favourite thing about Mal, Evie, Carlos, and Jay is that they are always looking for excitement, even if they cause trouble on the way.
My favourite thing about the book is that it is about what happens to the Disney characters after their fairy tale is over.
I recommend this book to kids aged 7+ who enjoy adventure tales, because it is really exciting but could be scary for some kids.
I rate this book 9/10 because it is really exciting.

The Witches by Roald Dahl

This book is about witches that are trying to destroy the children and turn them into mice.
My favorite part is when the narrator gets turned into a mouse. he was a special mouse and he could live for a long time.
My favourite character is the narrator because he has seen a lot of witches in his life.
I would recommend this book year 3 and up because it is quite hard to read for kids.
​I would rate this book 6/10 because it is hard and it is also interesting to read. 

The Lorax by Dr. Seuss

The Lorax is about an orange crazy guy who loves nature and loves trees. One day there is a strange green man who started to knit with the Lorax’s fluff from the Truffula trees. In the Lorax’s Forest, he cuts down all of the tall Truffula trees and sadly steals all the animal’s homes in the Lorax’s Forest. When the Lorax found out he told the strange green man what he was doing wrong. The green man didn’t care and kept making suits with the trees fluff. My favourite part about the book is when The Lorax fights for his trees because it shows that he loves his forest.
I recommend this book for year 2 and up because it has some tongue twisters and tricky words.
I rate this book 9.5/10.

Fox in Sock by Dr. Seuss

Fox in Socks is a classic story written by Dr. Seuss. It is fun to read because it is written in a rhyming way.
The book is about Mr Fox showing Mr Knox cool tricks because he didn’t like the first tricks that Mr Fox was showing him, and that went on for the whole book, every time Mr Knox saw a new trick that he didn’t like, he would say “Mr Fox I hate this game I won’t do it”.
At the end of the book Mr Fox was putting beetles in a bottle then Mr Knox put Mr Fox in the bottle instead of beetles, and made Mr Fox stuck in the bottle and left him there.
My favourite part was when Mr Knox put Mr Fox in the bottle because he had just left him there and walked away so he just stopped showing him tricks. I also liked all the tongue twisters it made me want to read the whole thing.
I recommend this book for ages 4 and up because it has some semi hard words but mostly easy words.
​I rate this book 5/10 because in my opinion it wasn’t the best Dr. Seuss book.

Dog Man Unleashed by Dav Pilkey

Dog Man Unleased is about an evil fish called Flippy that got evil powers by super brain dots and robbed a pet store.
Dog Man went to the pet store to save the pet store people, but licked the dog bones then chewed on the ropes.
At cat jail, the cop thought Flippy was Petey, the world’s evilest cat, and told Petey that he robbed the pet store.
He wanted to find out who Flippy was so, Petey escaped with a fake paper. Petey walked right out of cat jail and the ambulance drove past to get Flat Petey (made of paper) and take him to the doctor. He came alive and the doctor became a butler by obey spray.
The world’s best reporter discovered that Flippy didn’t steal money he stole little treasure chests.
Petey found out on the news that Flippy liked treasure chests so he built a giant treasure chest and got everybody to fill it up.
You will have to read the book to find out happens next.
My favourite part was when they used Flat Petey as a sled because they did really cool flips on the sled.
I recommend this book to year 2 and up because some words are hard but I really enjoyed it.
​I rate this book 9/10 because it is exciting.

Stage Left, Heart Right by Kate Forster

Stage Left, Heart Right is a novel about a girl called Ava. Her friend Izzy acted for a play called Romeo and Juliet. Ava was a nice friend and supported Izzy. But the teacher asked Ava to get up and act out a bit of the play, so she did, and got the lead part. Izzy wanted the lead role and didn’t get it, so she wasn’t happy. The one who played Romeo was Camren, who Ava had a crush on and she didn’t know that Camren liked her back.
My favourite part is when Ava performed it on stage and her family came to watch. Her mum did not want her to do it but she did it anyway.
My other favourite part was when Ava and Izzy became friends again.
I recommend this book for year 4 and up because I think it might be too hard to read for the lower grades.
​I rate this book 10/10 because I love romantic books and if you do I recommend this book for you too.

Descendants #2: Return to the Isle of the Lost by Melissa de la Cruz

This book is about what happens to Mal, Carlos Evie, and Jay, when they start school at Auradon Prep.
When the four villain kids receive threatening messages demanding they return to the Isle of the Lost, the kids have no choice but to return to their old home.
Once they return, the foursome discover that their villainous parents have disappeared, but with further research they discover that the villains are underground, in the Catacombs of Doom. The Catacombs of Doom are a series of tunnels formed by magic that had nowhere else to go.
The villains had to be searching for their evil talismans that would give them unimaginable power.
But while the villain kids are down in the catacombs, Ben, Belle and Beast’s son, is off in Camelot, chasing an elusive purple dragon that is terrorising citizens.
My favourite thing in this book is when Mal, Evie, Carlos, and Jay discover that the Camelot dragon is actually Madam Mim, who escaped the Isle through the catacombs.
I recommend this book to children aged 7+ who enjoy excitement and a bit of danger, because it might startle younger readers.
​I rate this book 8/10 stars because it is extremely well written.

One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish Blue Fish by Dr. Seuss

One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish is a rhyming book that has tongue twisters and unique rhyming words with funny and cute fish with stars, short hair, long hair and more.
Doctor Seuss made funny names for all the creatures that matched the way they looked.
The funniest part is where on one of the pages there is a small yellow creature who has huge blue luscious locks with her hair being brushed and styled by the girl.
My favorite part about the book is that the fish can have different types of colours no matter what and when the kids meet a guy called Mr Grump, who has an animal who has a lot of lumps all over him.
I recommend this book for year 2 and up because there is a lot of tricky tongue twisters.

Mr Brown Can Moo! Can You? by Dr Seuss

The book is about Mr Brown who is making different sounds according to what the thing is that he sees. For example, a bottle with a cork makes a POP! He asks you to make the sound after him, at the end he puts all the noises into two pages.
Mr Brown goes to all different places in his area.
My favourite part is all the rhyming words because it makes me read the whole book and I like how it interacts with you and asks you to say the sounds and it makes it funnier.
I recommend the book to ages 2 and up as it is really easy and childish plus it doesn’t have much detail.
​I rate this book 4/10 because it is made for toddlers and young children.

All Your Wishes by Laura Sieveking

All Your Wishes is a novel about a girl called Piper. Her parents are famous actors who live in Hollywood.
Piper went to her friends, Chloe and Cooper's (they’re twins) house so she could have a break from hiding and wearing disguises all the time. No one knows what Piper looks like.
When she went to the new school no one knew that she was the daughter of the famous actors.
My favourite part is when Piper gets on the roof of her friends house and supports Cooper who was upset because there is a guy called Cruz who bullies Cooper.
I recommend this book for year 4 because I think this book might be a bit too hard for the lower grades and because they may not be interested in this style of writing.
​I rate this book 10/10 because I love romantic books and if you do I recommend this book for you.

Wings of Fire #1: The Dragonet Prophecy by Tui T. Sutherland

In this story Dragonets try to escape from a cave. They go on an adventure and learn to be brave and help the dragons.
I really like this book because it tells me to never give up.
It would be great for kids in year 5 and up because it is full of action.
​I would rate it a 9/10 because it really hooked me in.

WeirDo #8: Really Weird! by Anh Do

This book is about a boy called Weir. In this novel Weir's school is having a dance at the barn.
Weir and his family have to go on a road trip to pick his Grandmother up from the airport.
Grandma Do gave Weir some overalls.
At school, Weir passed a note down to Bella but when someone passes it to Wendy, she thinks it’s for her. When Hans some was about to ask Bella if she would like to go to the dance with him, Wendy rushes over and tells them about the note. This makes Bella say yes.
I would recommend this book for people aged 6 to 12.
I rate this book 8/10.

Diary of a Pug #3: Paws for a Cause by Kyla May

Paws for a Cause is about a pug called Bubbles and his owner called Bella.
In this book Bella finds a stray kitten. Unfortunately Bella’s mum only let her keep it for a day and take it to the animal shelter first thing in the morning. When they do, Bella invites her friend Jack and his dog Luna. Luna and Bubbles are best friends too. Luna loves water but Bubbles hates it.
When they take the kitten to the shelter, Bella and Jack realise that there's no toys. The workers say that it because they can’t afford it. This makes Bella sad. The next day Bella gets an idea. The idea is to make a dog wash to fundraise money.

WeirDo #25: Weird Star! by Anh Do

It started off with the school's talent quest and Weir's friends started a band. Weir really wanted to join but the only problem was that he couldn't play anything.
Bella was on guitar, Henry on drums and Wendy was on the flute. What will Weir play?
I definitely recommend this book to kids 7 and above because it was an easy and simple read.
