Cardcaptor Sakura, Vol. 1 by Clamp

Reviewed by Tabitha H. BPS

Cardcaptor Sakura is an anime book and a fantastic book! It has INSASNE illustrations and detail in the little things such as the characters clothes and facial expressions are extremely detailed. Cardcaptor Sakura is about a little girl who just got into middle school. Her name is Sakura Kinomoto, and her family is Toya Kinomoto, her brother, Fujitaka Kinomoto, and Nadeshiko Kinomoto her mother, who sadly passed away when she was three years old.
Her energy and her cheerfulness are the most powerful strength she has! Her favorite subjects in school are P.E. and music.
She has a cute little creature named Kero-Chan, he is a Cerberus (a bigger fairy that holds a lot of power).
What happens in the book is she snuck into her dad’s office where she found a mysterious book in there. She pinched the book, so she started to read it. It was strange, like very strange.
But as if the day couldn't have gotten weirder, when she went to bed, she couldn’t dream that night she could only have nightmares…but that is all I’m going to say. I don’t want to spoil it all!
What I liked about in the book is when she has a nightmare and it goes on into the next chapter because there is an illustration that’s REALLY pretty.
I recommend this book for year 3s and up because I think anime is more for older children and because there are quite a few tricky words.
I give this book 10/10! It is one of my favorite anime books and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series!

This book is about a lot of different characters. They are Dog Man, Petey, lil Petey, the three fleas and more.
This story is about three fleas trying to frame Dog Man for crimes. One of the crimes is stealing clothes so they can look like Dog Man while being in a robot and then they rob the pet store so the police looked at the cameras and thought it was Dog Man, so Dog Man was in jail.
Dog Man's friends lil Petey and 80 HD came in a helicopter to the dog prison to save Dog Man. All of the dogs were pulling their waste up an 80 mile hill to sell it to the fertilizer plant and while they were doing it 80 HD then cut off the chain and opened his mouth and told all of the dogs to get in his mouth then 80 HD got in the helicopter and all the dogs were free but while they were doing that the three fleas were still on the loose.
Chief took Dog Man to the movie they made about him but then the three fleas came and caused chaos. The three fleas were about do then they tried to use the living spray and spray it on things so they would fight Dog Man and lil Petey but then Dog Man grabbed the living spray and put it on the scissors and the scissors chased away the three fleas and they never seen them again.

This book is about the kids Greg and Rowley who are no longer friends. Greg goes through lots of different things at school trying to make friends and tells a lot of lies. He doesn't want to admit that he did it (he did!) so tries to get away with it, lying until the parents find out and he ends up grounded for 3 weeks.
In the end he tries to make changes to finally make it up to them.
This story connected with my personal life because I have sometimes made a lie to get away with something.
I loved all the details in this story but the title could be a bit better.
I would recommend 'The Bad Lie' because the story changes when he makes a lie.
I think it is pretty hard to say who I would recommend this book to but possibly 5-9 year olds because lying is bad for people and it could accidentally change someone's mind to start lying.
I love the book and would say a 9.75/10 because it is super funny and makes me laugh every time I read it!
