Good Night Stories For Rebel Girls

Picture
Reviewed by Lily SCPS

Watch out! this is a book all about amazing Woman who were almost erased from history! Most of them were in the olden days and some in Ancient Rome and Egypt. In one story, there was a Chinese astronomer. I didn't even think there were astronomers in China!
This book is great because its not too long and it is educational too. It also gives all the girls out there a big boost, and a chance to be inspired by the incredible women who have done unbelievable things.

Mega Monster by David Walliams

Larker is a hilarious girl, who has had a sad life so far. Her parents died and the only thing that keeps her happy is making jokes. But I am not sure if they will save her from this horrible school. There are terrifying groundskeepers and an evil science teacher. And monsters!
Every book I have read lately is about bad schools. The reason I chose this book for a book review is that it had a lot of hilarious words and phrases. The pictures were cool, but the story-line was awesome. I loved it!
I love the fact David Walliams shows us the characters beforehand. This story reminds me of Godzilla and big creatures because all the monsters are huge.

As a fan of the Baby Sitters Club I have to say, that out of all of these books this one definitely was one of my favourites, but I think that you might need to read the other great books by Ann M. Martin (other Baby Sitters Club books). I liked this book because I thought that the author put in some things that the readers were not expecting in the series. There were also a lot of good word choices in the book that helped me get a good picture in my head.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to read about the Baby Sitters Club or anyone that likes to read books with a bit of suspense.

I am reading the book called My Brother Ben. It is written by Peter Carnavas. So far this book has been good because it is about a boy who found a bird on the side of the road. The bird had broken leg so he is nursing it back to full health.
I am looking forward to finishing this book.
So far I rate this book a 5 out of 10 and recommend it to bird lovers and other kids 8 and older.

The Getaway (Diary of A Wimpy Kid#12)

This book is a sequel so maybe read the other ones before it.
I quite liked the comedy relief, because it keeps me laughing. Greg and his family are hoping for a holiday but getting to the airport very late kind of seems bad. They think their resort is perfect until, spiders in the toilet! Eewwww. Romance, and heartbreak, and security... Jeez they're having a bad holiday.
Back to me telling you why it's good. I loved the pictures, because they really put what the author is trying to tell you, and you can see it. It really helps.
The events in the story were really well planed like the security (I wont go into to much detail because of spoilers).
I would recommend this book to people aged 6-11.
I rate it 8 out of 10.

Team Tryouts! (Daring Delly #1)

I thought this book was pretty amazing because one, it's about basketball and two, it's about an NBA/NBL player when he was a kid. I really love how the author added in basketball terms such as chest pass, jump shot and layup. Even at the start of the book there are some pictures of stick men in the middle of a basketball technique of how to do it. The the book is based on Matthew Dellavedova and his teammates going up against Melbourne's best junior basketball team and the best part was when they went to go play them. I really love how they main characters send each other little notes like " Hey Delly have you ever felt like giving up?"
I'd rate this book a solid 8/10.

Nate Adams is a ordinary high school kid until one day he finds the magical Yo-Kai Watch which allows him to see Yo-kai.
In this book you get to see even more funny and interesting Yo-kai such as Gush the Nosebleed Yo-kai who causes random blood noses and many more.
It was an amazing, funny, graphic novel and I really enjoyed it.
I would give it 10/10.

Working with Dragons: A Course in Dragonology

The reason why I love this book so much is because in the diary, from Dr Drake, it’s all about his discovery of dragons, the things that he invented to help him, and the dragons. To top it off, it’s written in different languages. This makes it enjoyable and interesting to read. It can tell you all about dragons even though it’s a mythical book.
I recommend it for all ages from ten and above.
I rate it a 9/10. I dare you to read it!
