Ninja Toys (Ninja Kid #7) |
 | Reviewed by Peter Y. YPCC This book is about two kids who are ninjas. There is also a villain called Dr. Kane. Grandma creates a glove of life and Kenny and Ninja Kid take it for a science fair project. The glove gets taken by Dr. Kane and he creates and evil toy army, but then Kenny and Ninja Kid take the glove back. They create a good toy army and fight back. They turn the evil toys back to normal, but then they accidentally shoot Dr. Kane and he turns into a toy. I think it's a really good story. I rate it 10/10 because it's really funny. I recommend it to people who like Anh Do stories. |

Braver and Boulder (InvestiGators #5)

They lived in a giant robot alligator and they are investigating the Boulder Buddies. This is a good book. My favourite part is where they live. There are lots of characters like Red Lobster and Octopus. I rate it 7/10. I recommend it for anyone 7+. |
Sydney Under Attack by Sophie Masson
 | Reviewed by Matilda K. CPS Sydney Under Attack is about a boy named Nick Holt, who is twelve years old, and lives with his mum and his little sister, Tilly. His dad works as a war correspondent and he is never really at home. Nick thinks he has seen a Japanese plane flying around the city. He tells everyone, but no-one believes him. Later, Nick is woken up to find Sydney is under attack. Along with the bombing, Nick goes through a series of events. I didn't really like this story because it didn't feel like Sydney was actually getting attacked. It felt like war was starting, then it ended straight away. I think this book needs more action. I recommend this book for ages 9 - 14 years. I rate it 6/10. |

And guess what? But these guys are good guys, they find trouble, they save cats and help dogs escape from the pound. I rate this book 10/10. I recommend that anyone who likes reading funny books should read the Bad Guys. |

Their reactions are so funny too! I loved this book because it was really interesting and funny!!! I rate this a 9/10 because it was good (it didn’t really make sense but it was still really interesting). I recommend this book for ages 5+ for two reasons. One: because it has no colours, and Two: because ages five+ like pictures and it has lots of them! |

Alfie Cat In Trouble by Rachel Wells

You get into trouble for accidentally smudging cat food into the carpet, so you go to a different house to get away from your problems.... Well Alfie did exactly that. He went to the Clover's house (who were moving in). Stanley, who is eight, is jealous of his older sister Viola, who never gets in to any trouble. Stanley keeps getting in to trouble and gets yelled at. Alfie is trying to get his family back together, can he do it? I rate this book 8/10 because it is happy when they are doing well, but sad when poor Stanley gets into trouble. I recommend this book to people aged 8+. |

He makes a huge treasure chest and made people put money in it. Paper Petey comes alive and calls himself Flat. Petey robs the chest, makes a museum T-rex come to life, and a mysterious man appears. Flat Petey fails and they live happily ever after. OR DO THEY? I give this book a 8.5/10. I recommend this book for ages 6+. |

Slinky Malinki by Lynley Dodd
 | Reviewed by George D. CLPS Have you ever heard of Slinky Malinki? If not, I'm sure you've heard of Hairy Maclary. Slinky Malinki is a much loved side character in the tales of Hairy Maclary. Slinky Malinki is a lovely cat but at night he steals mountains of goodies like a squishy banana, some glue, a pen and a cushion from Oliver Tulliver's den! Overall, this is a good read and very good for younger kids. I like reading books that were read to me when I was a kid because most of them are absurd and I like remembering little sentences that I can still remember. I rate this book 9/10 because I am still dazed at how the author found all of the rhyming words. I recommend it to everyone because I feel like anyone would find enjoyment from this story. |

The Twits by Roald Dahl
 | Reviewed by Elena B. SPS At the start the Twits start playing pranks on each other, like the glass eye, when Mrs Twit put her glass eye in a cup, the frog trick, and just heaps of other tricks. They put sticky glue on a tree, so on Tuesday they could have bird pie and they wouldn't need to shoot them. They also had monkeys, but the monkeys needed to do every thing upside down. The Twits are very disgusting, mean and dirty. I really liked this book because it was humorous and funny. I rate it 8.5/10. I recommend it to someone who is a prankster and is a humorous person. |

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone

 | Reviewed by Elena B. SPS I'm currently reading Harry Potter. In the first chapter Harry was living with his uncle, Vernon and aunty, Petunia. They needed to move somewhere else because Harry kept getting letters from Hogwarts. His aunty and uncle are only looking after him because Harry's parents died when Lord Voldemort killed them. Harry keeps getting letters because he's a wizard, so they told Hagrid to get Harry. Hagrid didn't know, that Harry didn't know, that he's a wizard. When Hagrid figured out he yelled at Vernon Petunia. So, in the morning they go to Gringotts Bank to get Harry his money that his parent's left him. Then they go to get Harry's stuff. Harry needs to wait until September for when Hogwarts begins. In September Vernon takes Harry to the train station and that's when Harry meets Ron Weasley and the other Weasleys and they teach him how to get to platform 9 and 3/4 quarters. I rate this book a 10/10. I recommend it to Harry Potter fans and people in Grade 5 and over because it is quite tricky. I really like it because it is very interesting, amusing and it's a very detailed book. |

The boys are stomping trolls and the girls are butterflies. Billy is flying through the air quickly and crashes while the other girls are delicately floating through the air. The trolls are stomping behind them. Later that night Billy goes over to Jack’s house to practice. I’m not gonna spoil it any more so you’re going to have to read the book to find out what happens next. I recommend this book for ages 4+ because it’s really easy to read especially if you want to have a good 10 minute read. I rate it 7 /10. I think it could have been longer. |

I would read this book again so I would give it a 4 out of 5 because it has a nice cover and a nice blurb on the back. There are 200 pages. The book only has small words on a page like 20 words on one page with some pictures of the bunny and the little boy in his undies at the school gate because of a bully. The next day at school he gets him back and the whole school even the teachers and principal laughs. |

InvestiGators By John Patrick Green

My favourite crime that they solved was when Chef Gustavo Mustachio was taken by the CrakerDILE and Brash and Mango were interrogating the employees pretending to be the head chef, Mustachio. The book was set out in a comic format. It was funny, cool and had lots of twists and unexpected turns. I rate this book 10/ 10 but the thing I didn’t like was how it ended with a ‘to be continued’ and I wanted to keep reading on. I recommend for ages 6+. |

I liked it more than l didn’t. The only thing I didn’t like was that they had a lot of the same cases that they were trying to solve.

Worst Week Ever: Monday

Andy got in a lot of mischief and loved to annoy people, especially his older sister Jen. Each chapter in this book is a different story about Andy and his family. I think this book is very funny and I think many people could relate to some of these stories of Andy. I liked the whole book and want to read more of his books. Terry Denton does some cool and weird illustrations. Andy Griffiths books are great and Terry Dentons' illustrations are great too! I recommend this book to people aged 9+. Overall, I enjoyed this book a lot and would rate it 10/10. |

By the way, they all get lost and can't find their way back to the rest of the group, and they spend the night on a hand made raft made in the flood water helping a bird from its cold and listening to the bush. I liked this book a lot and I rate it a 8.5/10 I would recommend it to ages 5+. |

There is a painting competition and Nelson and Kenny had no idea on what to paint. When they got home from school, the new Pow-Pow Pig comic came out. Kenny got the character camera and zapped them into the comic book. While they were in the comic book, crazy stuff happened to them! When they got out of the comic book they suddenly knew what to paint: the Loch Ness Monster. The next day they arrived at the art gallery for the judging to find out who won. Mocasso the judge wasn’t really Mocasso. It was… you will have to read to find out who it was. I like this book because it is funny and there are ninjas. I recommend this book for Grades 3 and up. I like this book because it has a lot of detail and it has a lot of words in it, he always likes to be funny and he is very friendly. I rate this book 9/10 because it is just such a great book. I recommend this book to Grades 4 and up. |

I am now going to read the whole Goosebumps series. I rate this book 9/10. I think the series would be suitable for 8+ years old. |

There was a creepy house at the top of the mountain. They wanted to move in to it and it was haunted. They were scared. The doors opened and closed by themselves, the lights flickered on and off.

The three of them were very rich and they were definitely known. Daisy wanted to be a detective and solve cases with Hazel, but Hazel wanted to be similar to her father and she wanted to forget about all the murder cases her and Daisy went through. I found the book entertaining because of plot twists and the characters. Although since the author was more from England I'm guessing, it made it a little harder to read. Either way I enjoyed the book. I highly recommend reading this book especially for ages 9+. I rate this book 8.5/10. |

MRPS The book, A Clock of Stars, is about two sisters, Imogen and Marie, having a fun time following a pretty moth they had seen once before, until they find a door in a tree from the first book. Imogen twisted the knob and what happened next is jaw breaking! You should definitely get the book! I really loved this book. There is nothing I would change other than how they kept changing what the main problem was and my favourite part was when they met the princess because she was funny and a bit bratty though! I rate this book 9/10 because it was really exciting and every page I turned got more exciting. It did take a while to read but still it was great! I recommend this book for ages 9+ because it had some tricky words and I think anyone younger will not have the attention span. I also recommend this book to people who love reading or magical things! |

It started when Cruella was about 10 years old then she skipped time a little bit 5 years later when she was going to high school (you can figure out how old she was) - do that math. Then we skipped time a little more when she was 20. I don’t want to spoil the book so I won’t go into details. I really liked the book because it really tells you how she became like that. I would recommend this book to 8 year olds because there is kissing that might be weird for some people. I would rate this book 8.5/10 because I think there could be more detail in the book, but it was a really good book! |

Do Not Open This Book Ever by Andy Lee

P MRPS In this story Wizz doesn’t want anyone to open the book because one day Wizz fell asleep and it took a fairy’s kiss to wake up but the kiss came with side effects which were: if any one opens the book Wizz would go back to being a baby to a toddler and so on. At the end of the book Wizz is around the age of one hundred years old and wants the reader to be his caretaker. I like this story because I like how funny it is and the structure of the book. I would recommend this book for Grade1-3 or six to ten year olds, because at that age kids really enjoy funny texts and pictures. For this book I’d rate it a 7.5/10 because I really enjoyed Andy Lee’s books, but on the downside I would recommend harder words. |

He goes for five teams which are Collingwood, Sydney, West Coast, Essendon, and Lions. When he was young he had to leave his beloved Booyong High which meant Booyong High was his enemy when he joined Gosmore Grammar. The Boots of Glory match could be his most important match. I highly recommend this book to kids aged 6 and higher who love footy. I rate this book a 9.2 /10 because I love footy and this book stood out to me a lot as an AFL fan. |

Well it’s probably not a good thing because he could scrape all his skin off. That’s probably why he doesn’t take a swim and washes his hands instead but, he still gets rashes. I don’t want to spoil it so I’m not going to say anymore. I liked this book because there is a zombie that is friend with a human and it is a bit funny. I rate this book a solid 8.5/10. They spend the night on a handmade raft in the floodwater helping a bird and listening to noises in the bush. I liked this book a lot and I rate it a 8.5/10. I would recommend it to ages 5+. |
Glitched Up (Diary of a Minecraft Zombie: Super Special) by Zack Zombie
 | Reviewed by Oliver C. BuniPS In this book Minecraft gets two new updates and those two updates are trouble. In the first update there is a glitch, Zach Zombie wakes up to have a double. Zach's zombie double gets up to some mischief that includes drawing on the math room wall and burning the oval to ashes. On the second update everyone except for Zack gets stuck in a speed trap so they all get old while Zach Zombie is still young. Zach goes on an adventure and finds the time reversing block and cuts the wrong wire and then the biomes start to fade. I don't want to spoil the whole book so I'm not going to say any more. I loved this book. I rate it 9.5/10 I recommend it for all ages above 7. |

BuniPS Dogman is a good mutant police dog minding his own business when his arch nemesis Petey brings a huge vacuum cleaner robot, it chases Dogman to the ocean and it starts filling up with water and explodes. Petey is put back in jail. Meanwhile the Mayor fires Chief from his job at the police station and sends in a replacement that is a robot. The Mayor makes rotten stores because behind everyone’s backs she is evil. Petey gets an invisibility spray and breaks free, then he sees the rotten stores and starts pranking the customers. The robot chief accidentally blows up the stores and himself whilst chasing Petey. Dogman wets Petey which wears off the invisibility spray. Petey is put back in jail and so is the evil Mayor. I really like the the characters because they are funny. The only thing that I did not like was that it was three stories in one. This book is for 6 to 9 year old kids and it is a great book. I rate it a 7.9/ 10. |
