How the Birds got their Colours by Mary Albert

How the Birds got their Colours is a great book to enjoy the culture of the people of Broome. The drawings are great. I love the colours and how it is a dream time story.
I rate it 10 out of 10 and it is for all ages.

Sheep on a Beach by P. Crumble

Sheep decides to go to the beach, he puts his umbrella up, towel on the sand and zinc on his nose. Ouch!! The sand is too hot, the water’s too cold, he dodges a seagull, then opens the Esky to get something to eat. Ewes come down to the beach so lots of friends to greet. Sheep was snoozing in a paddock dreaming about a beach.
I give this book 8/10 and recommend it for Prep -Grade 2.

The Magnificent Tree by Nick Bland

I like this book because Bonny and Pop always had great ideas. But a few days past and they built a magnificent tree made out of metal. They also built a swing that Bonny loves to swing on.
I recommend this book year 2-4.
I rate this book a 10/10!

6 Minute Stories For 6 Year Olds by Meredith Costain

This book is a collection of twelve six-minute stories, some of them are really funny. There’s an ice-cream eating dinosaur, a lifesaving dog, zombies playing soccer, ghosts in the garden and so much more.
I give it 7/10 and recommend it for Grades  1-3.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days by Jeff Kinney

Greg Heffly wants a dog and finally gets one! Manny wants to name it "Zebra, Zeb for short". Rodrick goes along with Manny’s idea and asks about "Turtle, Terd for short". Then Mom decided "Sweetheart, Sweetie for short". Just like Greg, Sweetie loves to watch TV. Dad encourages Sweetie to find the hidden ferrets on the big screen. What would you name your pet? I liked this book because of the same reason as many others, I guess because I like Jeff Kinney.

This book is really funny because it has funny jokes. I’ll tell you one..... What do you call a dinosaur with one eye? Do-you-think-he-saur-us.

One day Macca Alpaca was getting ready for Christmas because it was his favourite time of the year.  An hour passed by and Macca Alpaca was designing the room with a Christmas tree and lights around the room. There was decoration everywhere. When Macca Alpaca started decorating the tree you could not see the tree. Read on to find out what happened next.

There’s a mystery at Edward’s house, someone is stealing things at night. So, Edward becomes Detective Ted and solves the mystery of who stole the cookies.
I give it 8/10 and recommend it for Grades 1-2.

I love this book because it's a Christmas book.
This book tells you about Billie having fun on Christmas. Billie gets a new bike for Christmas.
I recommend everyone who likes Christmas to read this book.

The Koala Who Bounced by Jimmy Thomson

This book is about a koala who falls out of a tree and bounces. He feels sad and lonely as none of the other koalas can bounce with him and he doesn’t have any friends. Read this book to find out what happens when one day he bounces up into a tree.
I give it 7/10 and recommend it for Grade 2.

Don’t Look Now 1 by Paul Jennings

Don’t Look Now is about a kid named Ricky, who has wanted to fly since he was three. One day he figures out that he can actually fly because his dad can fly too. Ricky goes on a lot of fun and wacky adventures, it is a very humorous story.
I would recommend this book to people if they like comedy.
This book is by far one of my favourite books ever, so I rate 100 % the best.

Unreal, Banana Peel! by June Factor

This book is my favourite book in the Far Out series and I think it’s the funniest. My favourite rhyme is....
“Fat and Skinny climbed a tree,
Fat fell down the lavatory,
Skinny went down and pulled the chain
And Fat was never seen again.”
I give it 10/10 and recommend it for Grades 1-3.

All Right, Vegemite! by June Factor

This is the second book in the Far Out series and it is really funny. My favourite rhyme is....
“Sam, Sam, the dirty man,
washed his face in a frying pan,
he combed his hair with a donkey’s tail
and scratched his belly with a big toe nail.”
I recommend it for Grades 1-4 and give it 8/10.

Green Eggs and Ham by Dr Seuss

I am Sam does not like green eggs and ham and he said I am Sam and he said I don't like green eggs and ham, so he moved somewhere else to read. Every time he moves away, he follows him everywhere with green eggs and ham. Then he liked green eggs and ham, so he ate the green eggs and ham.
I give this book 9/10.

Hedgehog’s just finished building a cosy nest for winter when suddenly an apple falls from the tree and lands on her back. She tries to get in her nest, but she can’t fit. The animals try to help her get it off, but it only gets worse. She ends up with the apple, 3 acorns, a pear, a brown leaf, a coloured card and a pink water lily caught in her spines. As soon as the goat sees her, he eats everything in her spines apart from the brown leaf, now hedgehog fits in her nest.
I give this book 8/10 and recommend it for Grades 1-3.

Bad Guys: Episode 1 by Aaron Blabey

In Bad Guys 1, Mr. Snake, Mr. Shark, Mr. Piranha, Mr. Wolf save 100 puppies from a High-Tech Prison run by a guinea pig alien with butt hands.
This is a humorous book with lots of action which would be enjoyed by parents and children. Younger children could have the book read to them.
I rate this book 10/10 and I really can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

Bad Guys: Episode 2: Mission Unpluckable

In Bad Guys: Episode 2: the Bad Guys meant to set free 1000 chickens but they only freed 999 because Snake ate one! The freeing was successful, but things went crazy for the Bad Guys when Piranha fell down a big deep hole and into a sandwich. Read it to see what happens.
I rate this another 10/10.
Lots of fun and excitement for adults and children.

Teen Titans Go! Cyborg Circuit Overload by J. E. Bright

Cyborg is a laid-back, half-teen, half-robot who’s more interested in pizza, meatballs and video games than in fighting crime.  He’s got super strength and an arm that makes popcorn. What happens when this engineered human wants to kick back like a normal person?   Find out what happens in this book with three short stories.
I give it 7/10 and recommend it for Grades 1-3.

Just Stupid by Andy Griffiths

This book is funny because Andy needs to go to the toilet (this is one of the chapters). He is going shopping for his mum and can't think what to get.
I rate this book an 8/10 because it a little bit lame (not much).
I recommend this book for year 3+.

Hand Shadows by Simon Tudhope

This book is full of ideas for creatures you can bring to life. All you need is your hands, a lamp and this little book. I have three favourite shadows I like to create, they are the bird in flight, the jumping kangaroo and the relaxed rabbit.
I give this book 8/10 and recommend it for Grades 1-3.

Geronimo Stilton and his favorite nephew were looking at costumes to get and they couldn't decide so they came back the next day and found out that there was nothing left in the shop, it had been robbed.......
I rate this book an 7/10 because it was a bit boring
I recommend this book for year 2+.

Piranha's Don't Eat Bananas by Aaron Blabey

This book is very funny. There is a piranha that likes to eat vegetables and fruit and his name is Brian. The other piranhas eat human's body parts.
I rate this book an 8/10.
I recommend this book for Prep to Year 3.

This book is about a boy named Jack and he finds a puppy on the street. He tries to convince his parents to let him keep it.
I recommend it for Grades 1-3 and give it 8/10.

Hot Wheels: Volcano Blast! by Ace Landers

This book is about a car race. As soon as the race starts the ground begins to shake. It’s a tight race, the yellow car gets hit first.. he’s out, then the blue car. The red car bumps the green car and gets into first place, then the volcano erupts, the cars go everywhere, and the ….. car manages to win the race.
I give it 7/10 and recommend it for Kinder - Grade 2.

This book is about a green sheep that is missing. My two favourite pages are,..... here is the sun sheep and here is the rain sheep, here is the near sheep and here is the far sheep. The green sheep is fast asleep.
I give it 8/10 and recommend it for Kinder - Grade 2.

This book is about a zombie and the town is getting invaded by Iron Gnomes. The gnomes give out bad luck, they appear every day during recess on the commercial.  Will zombie find out where the Iron Gnomes are coming from?.....
I give this book 8/10 and recommend it for Grades 1-3.

This book is about a zombie and he is throwing a party for his whole class. Things don’t go to plan! As the pillagers get wind of the party, they decide to humiliate the junior mobs. Zombie and his friends try to defeat the pillagers.... but can they?.....
I give this book 9/10 and recommend it for Grades 2-4.

Diary of A Minecraft Zombie Book 16: Down the Drain by Zack Zombie

This book is about a zombie and how the village has changed since the gnome attack. The houses have mushroom tops and green pipes have popped up on every street.  Even two sewer workers show up in the village looking for a lost princess.
I give it 9/10 and recommend it for Grades 1-3.

This book is about a zombie and his friends. They must visit the ocean monument to stop the world of Minecraft from being plunged into the depths of the sea.
I give it 8/10 and recommend it for Grades 1-3.

100 Most Destructive Natural Disasters

This book is really interesting, it tells you about some of the worst natural disasters. I think the worst two things to happen are the Arica Tsunami and the Taupo Volcano. The Arica Tsunami originated from earthquakes and destroyed the town. It also shook the huge cliff (Morro) causing a landslide which buried the ruined town. The Taupo is the biggest, most violent eruption of the last 5000 years, it completely flattened the whole area and now Lake Taupo lies where the volcano erupted. 
I give it 10/10 and recommend it for Grades 2-5.

Jasper’s science class are going on a once in a lifetime trip to Australia. He is excited to hang out with his friends. He also tries a lot of new things that make him very brave, so brave he accepts a dare to take an Aussie critter home, but it doesn’t work out how he expected it to. 
I give it 8/10 and recommend it for Grades 1-3.

Hey Jack! The Best Party Ever by Sally Rippin

This book is about a boy named Jack and it’s his birthday. He can’t invite his best friend Billie as she’s sick but he promises to save her some cake. When the party ends, he goes to see Billie but remembers he didn’t save her any cake as Sam ate the last piece. Billie is very disappointed, so Jack goes back home and builds the playhouse out of LEGO, then they’re both really happy.
I give this book 8/10 and recommend it for Grades 1-3.

Hey Jack: The Robot Blues by Sally Rippin

Jack’s going to a birthday party dressed as a robot. He thinks his costume’s really cool but soon worries it’s not good enough. When he sees the other kids in their great costumes he doesn’t want to go. At the party they play outdoor games and Jack’s costume rips, he’s very upset. There is a prize for the best costume, all the kids had to vote and Jack won, he was so happy.
I recommend it for Grades 1-3 and give it 8/10.

Little Miss Sunshine by Roger Hargreaves

Little Miss Sunshine was driving home from her holiday when she noticed a sign pointing to Miseryland, she decided to go there. In Miseryland it’s forbidden to smile, laugh, chuckle or giggle, Little Miss Sunshine ended up getting arrested. She met the king and Miseryland became Laughterland.
I recommend it for Kinder - Grade 1 and give it 8/10.

Mr. Strong by Roger Hargreaves

Mr. Strong is the strongest person in the whole wide world, strong by name and strong by nature! He can throw a cannonball and bend iron bars. Mr. Strong’s strength comes from eating eggs, the more eggs he eats the stronger he becomes.
I really enjoyed reading this book and give it 8/10.
I recommend it for Kinder to Grade 2.

Little Miss Inventor by Roger Hargreaves

Little Miss Inventor’s brain is full of bright ideas. She turns her ideas into inventions, like the house she lives in, it has wheels so she can move whenever she feels like. Also, the electro-zapper egg boiler, the brillo-bristle teeth brusher and the super-speedy reader page turner. She also invents lots of things for her friends.
I give it 9/10 and recommend it for Kinder - Grade 2.

Mr. Happy by Roger Hargreaves

Mr. Happy is fat and round and lives in Happyland. One day while he was out walking he heard a sad squeaky voice, it was Mr. Miserable. Mr. Happy took Mr. Miserable back to his cottage and eventually he started to be happy, smiled for the first time ever, laughed until his sides hurt and his eyes watered.
I give this book 7/10 and recommend it for Kinder - Grade 2.
