Tom Gates: Biscuits, Bands, and Very Big Plans
by Liz Pichon

Picture
Reviewed by Mikaela F. CLPS
Tom pretends he is doing special homework, but he is not doing it, he is reading a book. He does not want to be in a band. His friends tell him to be in one. They said it was fun. You can nearly think it is real.
I recommend everyone to read it because you can read it any time you want. It is as fun as playing line tag.

This book is about a boy called Nicholas Ickle and everything keeps going wrong. Firstly, an elephant showed up, then two green spotty monsters came and took Nicholas’ hat. After that an annoying pirate came and dug a hole to bury his treasure. When he was about to put the treasure in the hole along came a queen, he even tried to take the queen’s crown. Next lots of rats appeared and even a puppet. Nicholas said “You are all in the wrong book!”

Supertato Hap-Pea Ever After
by Sue Hendra & Paul Linnet

Picture
Reviewed by Piers W. APS
This book is about Supertato saving the day because the veggies can’t get to sleep. Supertato makes hot milk but that doesn’t get them to sleep, then he sings a lullaby but that still doesn’t work. Supertato has an idea and shows the veggies some holiday photos but that still doesn’t send them to sleep. He decided to find a book to read to them but there was only one book left in the book section and someone had changed the title to Poopertato. Supertato was on the hunt to find who had done it.... it was the evil pea. Evil pea was hiding on top of a pile of books, Supertato found a book and snapped it shut. Supertato read the story and the veggies thought it was a good book, but the ending was a little bit flat. I give this book 8/10 and recommend it for 5-7year olds.

The cat wakes up.  The cat chased the mouse, but the mouse got back to the mouse hole and escaped from the cat.

This book is about four racers and a new racetrack. The track is underground and there is glowing slime on the track. The track splits in two, has speed boosters and lots of pipes that launch slime. The yellow and green car went on the speed boosters and slipped on the slime. The blue and red cars are battling for first place, but it ends up being a draw.
