One Day at Horrorland by R. L. Stine

This is the prequel to the Goosebumps Horrorland series.
Read about the Morris Family as they travel across the land to Horrorland which wasn't their chosen destination.
Join the family as they venture through the theme park including Werewolf Village, the Doom Slide and the Coffin Cruise. Wait for the twist at the end of the story.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and couldn't wait for the next chapter.

There Was an Old Bloke Who Swallowed a Chook

This book is about a man that swallowed a chook, a galah, a possum, a wombat, a goanna, a camel and a ute and then burps it back up.

This book is about a man who swallows animals and a ute. Firstly, he swallows a chook, then a galah, a possum, a wombat, a goanna, a camel and lastly a ute. Then he lets one RIP! And burps them back up... What a beaut!
I recommend this for Kinder - Grade 2.

The Bad Guys: Episode 1 by Aaron Blabey

Four different animals a shark, snake, piranha and a wolf are known as the bad guys, but they want to be heroes. and they are going to achieve that by doing good things. This was a very humorous book.
I would recommend this book for ages 7 and above.
I would rate this book a 7/10.

There is this man called Mr. McGee and he is flying a kite but then he starts to itch. Then Mr McGee starts to take all his clothes off and it is very, very, very funny.

Pugs Don’t Wear Pyjamas by Michelle Worthington

This book is about a boy called Tom who is going to stay at his aunts. He is really excited as his aunt has a new friend for Tom to play with. I liked this book because Tom get a big shock that the new friend is a pug called Ellie. I like that the aunt always says to him .... not this dog!! I also liked that that the dog was friends with rat.
I rate it 7/10.

WeirDo #3: Extra Weird by Anh Do

WeirDo has a strong, brave and warm heart.  He believes he can do anything and everything! In this story he plays soccer and a bird poops on him for pay back because he hit the bird with a ball. He has a pet bird as well and a dog. His bird barks instead of twittering. I recommend this book for people that don’t smile.
I give it a 10/10.

Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban

I really liked this Harry Potter book and I would recommend this to people in Year 6 and up. My favourite part is when Harry finds out that... Sirius Black is his godfather! Sirius Black is an escaped prisoner, He is mysterious and anonymous. He sent Harry a... you will have to read this book to find out!

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

There's a random house elf named Dobby, he warned Harry about the Chamber of Secrets and the monster that lies within it. Dobby says the monster is not to be named and only the hero of Slytherin can open it... I recommend that people who watch Harry Potter movies, and don’t like Malfoy, should read this book.

Drum Beats

This book is about a girl called Tonya that loves to drum to the beat and she wants to join the band, but her mum doesn't want her to join because she wants to play the drums. But her mum still says "No".  But then she signed up for the drum contest and then she spots her mum outside the room and she is surprised. I recommend this book for people of all ages.
I give this book a 10/10 because of the teacher’s expression.

Grow Up, David! by David Shannon

This book is about a little boy called David and his big brother. His big brother was very mean and then he hurts David. His big brother got in trouble and then he had to sit in the corner. His brother learnt his lesson and let David play. The pictures were the best, they were very cool.

Mr. McGee had a big bag of bread. He ignored the sign that said DON'T FEED THE ANIMALS and he fed his bread to the zoo animals. Then he got bitten on the finger by a bird and he began to scream. Mr. McGee had learnt his lesson. I enjoyed this book.

Cheer Chick Charlie: The Journey Begins

This book is about a girl who wants to do cheerleading so her Mum went to a training session with some other people that she didn't know. While that was happening Charlie, the girl, her brother and her Dad were all going to the park to kick the footy. Her brother was riding his bike, Charlie was skipping, and her Dad was walking. Then they both sprinted to the swing and then their Dad called both them to come to the oval and so they both did. Then a butterfly landed on Charlie's hand and the she got kicked in the face.
I rate this book 10/10.

The Bad Guys: Episode 4: Attack of the Zittens

The characters are Shark, Snake, Piranha, Spider and Wolf. It was set in the city, at a crocodile's house and in the ocean. My favourite part was when the wolf said, "In your face Marmalade." At the start the bad guys were stacked on top of each other and the pool popped. Dr Marmalade turned the kittens into zombies called Zittens. Near the end of the book a grandma crocodile made a potion and put wool in it and threw the wool and turned the Zittens back to normal.
I recommend this book for children 7 years and over.

I think it's funny and different to other books. It has interesting words and silly meanings. It is a great book for anyone that loves a laugh. If you are interested in getting this book it's about a pug that would not share. It's a great book for you and your family.

Weirdo #2: Even Weirder! by Anh Do

Weir was invited to Bella's birthday party. It was a dress up party. Weir was shopping and Bella saw him in the supermarket with five trolleys of toilet paper. She thought he was getting it for her birthday present. Bella felt a bit sad. Weir said that he had a way better present and that the toilet paper wasn't for her. Weir got Bella a fog necklace.
I recommend this book for Years 2-5.

This book is about Rodney the rabbit. Rodney loves drawing more than anything.  Then he loses his favourite pen. Rodney loves his pen more than anything.
He has lost things but nothing like his pen. This book is also a hide and seek book.  I found the pictures as important as the words in this book.
I rate this book 10/10.

This book is about a teenager called Raina who just wants to be normal and she is, until one night she trips and knocks out her two front teeth.  Then she must go through this whole process of fixing her mouth with braces on, braces off, surgery and other embarrassing things.  She loses most of her friends but in the end it all is great; her teeth are fixed and she makes new friends. True new friends.

Wolfie: An Unlikely Hero by Deborah Abela

Is there ever such thing as a good wolf? Just think about it. Can wolves ever go on trips to save a princess? Surely not. Maybe you should read and find out. It’s a really good book for people who do or don't believe in fairy tales.
I rate this book 9/10 because of its magical trip.

What happens when a monster comes over to play? 
Do you tell him to go home? Or will that make him sad or mad? I DON'T KNOW!
This book is about what happens when a monster and a boy mix and become best friends.
This is a good book for ages 3 to 12.

The Lighthouse Keeper's Cat by Ronda Armitage

This story is about a ginger coloured cat named Hamish. He is also quite a helpful cat who loves to help Mrs Grinling cook. But one night he hears Mrs Grinling say to her husband something Hamish doesn't like.
I would recommend this book for Years Prep – 3.
I would rate this book an 8/10.

Don’t Cross the Line by Isabel Minhos Martins

This story is about no one being allowed to cross the line. This book has every second page blank. On the other pages a soldier is warning the other characters that they can’t go onto the next page by order of the General. The pages are left blank so the General can join the story whenever he feels like it. What happens when some boys throw their ball onto the next page and cross the line? I would recommend this book for people 6 years and older. 
I rate this book 6 out of 10 because it doesn’t make that much sense.

The Truth About Penguins by Meg McKinley

Can penguins really fly? Do they have parties? This is a fiction story about penguins that can fly to other countries. When they take a break, they have a party with different animals. At the end of the book we actually find out the real truth about penguins. I recommended for anyone.

Ella Diaries #1: Double Dare You! by Meredith Costain

Ella was given a diary for Christmas from her mum and dad because her parents think she is good at writing. Ella writes about her day and her best friend Zoe and her old friend Peach. My favourite part is where there is a picture of three outfits of mixed things.
I recommend this book for Years 3-6.
I rate this book a 10/10.

Monster Chef by Nick Bland

The book is about a monster claiming he is terrible at his job of frightening children. He decided to cook terrible, frightening food. It worked! The children were all scared from the food. So monster food saves the day for the Monster Chef.
I recommend the book for ages 4-10.

Collingwood by Lorraine Wilson

Are you a footy fan? Even if you are not a Collingwood fan you might like this book. I learnt about people from Collingwood like Nathan Buckley.
I rate this book 8 / 10 for footy fans but 10 / 10 for Collingwood fans.

I Love My New Toy! by Mo Willems

This book is about  Piggie who gets a new toy. Then her friend elephant, Gerald, comes and asks, "Is that a throwing toy?"  Piggie doesn't know if it is. So Gerald throws the toy, the toy comes down and breaks. Piggie gets very mad and sad. Then a squirrel comes and says, "You have a break and snap toy." Then squirrel goes away then he asks, "Do you want to play with my new toy?" Gerald said, "No, I don't want to play with your toy, but I want to play with you. It is a good message about friends being better than toys.

Too Many Sheep by Christina Booth

This book is about a boy who can't go to sleep. Then his grandpa says, "When I can't go to sleep I count sheep." Then when it's bedtime the boy waits for the sheep then lots and lots of sheep come. Then the boy says, "Get out!" but one sheep says, " But I haven't finished the book yet." Then the boy counted from 1-100 but in a different way like this: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,100, and the sheep were all gone. I liked the ending because if you look closely you can see a sheep under the bed. Young children would enjoy having this story read to them.

Piranhas Don’t Eat Bananas by Aaron Blabey

The characters are Brian and three other piranhas. Brian likes food like vegetables and fruit. The other piranhas kept on arguing with Brian because they like to eat human parts. The book is very funny.
I recommend this book for 6 years and over.

This book is about a pop who is not normal like other pops. He is different in his own way which is good. I like this book because not all pops are the same and everyone’s different! I recommend this for 5-10 year olds.

Helpful Harry By Susannah McFarlane

Harry is a dog and has four friends named Henrietta, Hamish, Hannah and Holden. He helps his friends whenever they need help because helping is his hobby. One day the Heavy Metal Hawks lost their harmonica, but Harry found it. He was the hero.
I recommend this book for Years 1-3.

That's Not a Hippopotamus by Juliette MacIver

This book is about some kids in school who keep finding different animal and think that they are hippopotamuses, but they aren’t. I like this book because there are a lot of different animals and because the teacher just gave up when she got sick of all the children running around.
I recommend this book for 4-8 year olds.

When I'm Feeling Nervous by Trace Moroney

This book tells you about how some people feel when they are nervous. It talks about different times when you might feel nervous and how your body feels during those times. At the back of the book there are questions to help you know when you are feeling nervous. The main character is a young bunny. I recommend this book for ages 4 and over. My favourite part is when it gives you tips of how you can calm down. The pictures are pretty cool too.

Parachute by Danny Parker

I like this book because this book is about a little boy who always used it when he was getting down from high places. His parachute made him feel safe. As time passed, he left his parachute behind. This is a book about growing up. I recommend this book for 4-8 year olds.

This is a story about Declan the daredevil, he likes to do tricks on his bike. His friends are called Dougall, Dexter, Deb and Dora. One day Declan the daredevil was out doing tricks when he got stuck in a storm. After the storm cleared his friends came to find him, he’d taken shelter in a cave.
I give this book 8 out of 10.

The Pirate Who Had to Pee by Tim Miller

I found this book funny because a pirate had to pee. The waves made it worse because it made him more busting to pee. I recommend this book for children in Years 1 - 3 with a couple tricky words.

I love this book because this book teaches little kids and older kids to stop doing disgusting things! I also love this book because I know the author and he is amazing!

WeirDo #6: Crazy Weird by Anh Do

 Weir needed braces but he was scared to get them. Once he had braces on, he was embarrassed to talk to people. Then one day he went to the fair with his class at school.  Weir saw Bella trying to win a frog, but she didn't end up winning it.  Weir decided to try and win the frog for her. He was about to give her the frog when he realized she had left. The next day he waited until the end of the day to give Bella the frog as he was worried about showing his braces. When he finally gave her the frog she smiled, and he then realized that Bella also had braces. Bella said there was something wrong, then she drew braces on the frog.
I recommend this book for Years 3 and 4. I absolutely love his books.

Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson

This is a story about a witch who has a cat, a tall hat and long ginger hair that she wears in a plait. The witch collects animals along her way, they ride on a broomstick and fly through the wind. A dragon chases the witch and the broomstick snaps in two. The dragon tries to eat the witch, but the animals save her. The witch does a spell to make a new broomstick for her and the animals.  I recommend this book for Kinder - Grade 1 and give it 9/10.
